TL;DR: Quite simply the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever set foot in. After a particularly bad experience at another Osteria the previous night, we decided to give Ristorante ll Giurista a try. The unassuming entrance lead to a colorful garden like alley and ultimately to the front door of the restaurant. We had a good feeling about this one! The wait staff were warm and welcoming and seated us right away. A welcome from the kitchen in the form of a potato zucchini soup sampler promptly arrived at our table. Needless to say it was light and delicious and a great sign of things to come. The wait staff helped us pick a perfect and dry Roscato for the afternoon from a local Umbrian vineyard (Fanini). We alternated between sipping the wine and munching on the table focaccia (light and lovely!). We ordered the insalata, the Umbrian wild boar pasta and truffle pasta (it was on the special menu). Everything tasted absolutely delicious and I can’t rave enough about the boar. It was simply put the best Italian food I’ve ever had. The price point isn’t the cheapest but for the quality of the service and the food, it’s an absolute steal. If you’re in Perugia, do not miss the opportunity to dine here.

You absolutely MUST have a reservation... if really fills up. The pecorino soufflé was outstanding. The restaurant is rather small and the staff of three is at times a bit much for them to handle. But... everything we tasted was delicious - and the rooms are beautiful. Probably the best in Perugia.

The restaurant staff was amazing but more importantly the food was delicious! I loved visiting Perugia and if you are going there, make sure you stop by for either lunch or dinner at this restaurant. Would recommend it hands down!

The staff was super welcoming and All the dishes were amazing. The beef was tender and the Gnocchi with truffle taste so nice. We’ll go again. You must try it in Perugia.

Disappointing overrated restaurant! Food quality poor, wait staff condescending and arrogant, and service out of kitchen was slow. The pasta was ordinary, chicken fine, but the featured specialty, manso (steak) i tartufo. was less than 2 ounces of tough, sinewy, partly inedible thin slices of rare beef. We requested the waiter to decant the (12 year-old) wine but he began filling the glasses. We asked twice before he reluctantly decanted the wine, but then he took the bottle with at least ¾ of an inch of the remaining wine into the kitchen before eventually returning the now empty bottle.

Excellent quality of food and service. The fresh gnocchi in pecorino and truffle cream sauce was my absolute favorite. We would definatly recommend and return ourselves.

Everything was excellent and they were perfectly accommodating regarding my gluten and dairy allergies. We highly recommend Il Giurista and will happily return when visiting Perugia again! Grazie tantissimo e a presto!

We walked down the steps, opened the door and immediately the owner (Renato) was there to greet us. We explained that it was our last night of our trip to Tuscany and that we were hoping for a special experience to finish off our trip. We were not disappointed! Setting, in a cellar, was wonderful. Pace of service was just right. Food was exceptionally good. Renato helped me select a very decent bottle of wine. An excellent experience all round. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent service in a restaurant that has atmosphere and style. Both my courses were tasty and good value. The good Umbrian wine was a bonus. Highly recommended.

Very good value and some interesting dishes. Stands out from the crowd in terms of restaurants in the centre of Perugia where much is mediocre and standard. Service was really excellent and the interior is a lovely setting. If you are visiting for the day as we were and want a good but reasonably priced lunch in the city centre you cannot go wrong with this. Taglioni with white rabbit ragu and orange was particularly notable on the menu.
