Great extended lunch. Fantastic food and service with excellent value for money doing their set menu deal, drinks included! Fresh innovative cuisine and lots of choice for my vegetarian friend. A great find and will definitely be back to try more of the interesting menu.

Very nice presentation however the steak lacks flavour and there was no sauce. We had to add lots of salt and pepper to the steak as there was no flavour. Also after we received the bill, the waiter said there was a mistake and increased the price. They do a great deal at lunchtime however in the evening it is very expensive

This restaurant has an innovative take on Madeira classics, using interesting spicing and flavour combinations that really work. Friendly and helpful staff recommended great value wines from Alentejo, which we enjoyed very much. 30% a la carte discount made for a pleasant surprise when we got the bill. We will go back.

A nice little street-side restaurant with different food choices to many others. Waiters were friendly and informative, food was well presented and tasty as well as being very reasonably priced. Good place to visit for lunch or just a coffee, too.

The food tonight was excellent and with only a €19.20 bill, 30% off by booking via The Fork, the night was even better. The menu was a little different from the usual local menus but an interesting combination of flavours which tasted delicious and which was extremely well presented. I will go again before returning back to Scotland.

Very good food and service

Food very tasty, especially the shrimp starter and banana dessert. Very friendly, knowledgable waiting staff. The set menu is good value. Would highly recommend.

Two guests accompanied me to lunch at this excellent restaurant today. My seafood soup was superb, with a rich deep flavour rather like a lobster bisque, and was followed by tender and savoury short ribs. I felt the portion of Wontons in another of the starters was on the small side - unusual -as all other dishes came in generous portions, and my guests did pronounce them delicious. As sadly with all of Madeira at present, customers were few, and that detracted a bit from the ambience - but we enjoyed attentive friendly service, and will return.

Our third visit in three days - I guess that says it all :-) Again delicious and nicely presented food (fish of the day & filet steak), friendly service, nice atmosphere.

This was our second visit with two days and again we were more than happy with the food and the service. And their mandarine poncha is also very delicious :-)

Quite a find, thanks to other reviews on The Fork. Delicious tangerine Poncha was very special. Crispy prawn starter amazing. Mains also very good. Give it a try.

Fine dining at its best; the freshest ingredients, lovely atmosphere and attentive but not at all pushy service. We loved everything and will no doubt return.

It looks like a nice small pavement cafe like the many others lining the streets west of Funchal centre but don’t be fooled by appearances, this is a top restaurant serving food that would not disgrace most Michelin star establishments. It’s plates are maybe not just as fancily presented but on top most occasions we prefer that. We can only describe it as outstanding and if you fail to visit this restaurant it’s your loss!!! We wish them every success and we are tourists from Scotland that selected our visit randomly from the guides.
