A very pleasant evening on a busy Easter Saturday night. We asked for an were given a private table at the rear, which was however disturbed by a nearby door to the toilets which started banging loudly and incessantly as people voided their bladders. The food was well-conceived and ambitious, but fell just slightly short of excellent. The coquilles with pata negra was slightly undercooked, but coquilles are notoriously difficult and easily overdone. The chicken terrine was a nice idea, but a bit bland. The steamed zeeduivel was also of a good quality fish, but slightly bland as well. The parelhoen had a nice red wine reduction, but again something missing in the spicing. The frites suffered from what most frites suffer from this side of the Belgian border: the second frying was missing: Ossenwit, bintjes, and frying at first high then lower temperatures: keeps them extra moist. We could argue forever about the mayonnaise: I went to school in Leuven, and know that Belgian mayonnaise is better than Dutch Calve. But I have long ago given up arguing with my Dutch friends about this. Wines were excellent and very good value for money: big surprise was a South African red called "Tin Mine": Wow! Big, full-bodied taste, excellent spice and fruit: a real surprise. With a few small fixes: including the door to the toilet, but more importantly some work on the finishing of the dishes, and you could really be in 7th Heaven...

One of the best restaurants in Den Bosch than we visit with family or business guests. Good quality and a degree of innovation at the dishes.

The Korte Put Straat is very special. Such a lovely street with so many restaurants to choose from. But after a quick walk through De Zevenden Hemel jumped out at me. Very inviting, delicious menu and warm decor. This restaurant has a great style, delicious food and is reasonably priced. The menu card is diverse and has something for everyone. Even for me. I am a vegetarian and eat gluten free. I was offered delicious warm gluten free bread rolls to start with and was the handed a special Allergy menu card listing ingredients such as gluten, nuts and dairy for each dish. This was a first for me. What great service to have a separate menu at hand.
Desiree, the owner of the restaurant is a gem. She runs her restaurant with such hospitality, grace, warmth and joy. She has a true gift for making sure each guest feels comfortable, at home and well taken care of as if you were a dear friend visiting in her home.
On a recent trip to Den Bosch I have eaten here three times in one week and by the end of the week this felt like my home which is why I am writing this review so that you may go and visit and enjoy this restaurant as well. Thank you Desiree for making my stay a fantastic one!
