A total disappointment. I can't say anything bad about the food because it was good, we had spaghetti cacio e Pepe, the risotto with porcini mushrooms and a couple of vegetarian starters. But the service was almost non existent. A waiter that was literally ignoring us and skipping our table, we had to wait 30 min to get a menu which we explicitly had to request as we did with bread, with our second bottle of wine and for any other simple thing. we constantly needed to stop the 'waiters' that were ignoring us during the whole dinner. Terrible terrible service and unexpected. I must say that we didn't feel welcome at all and we will never go back anymore. The kitchen is good but the management should definitely change the whole service team.

We dined on the chef's menu, and each course was better than the last - carpaccio, risotto with eel, fish main course, and a delicious sponge cake dessert. We put ourselves in the waiter's hands and he did not disappoint. Highly recommended.

I had the mozzarella and cherry tomatoes for a starter that was amazing. The waiter explained to me the tomatoes are boiled then skins removed. The chef then adds olive oil and herbs to them and cook at a low heat, the result is a slight sweetness that is unlike anything i have ever had before in a tomato.
For my main item I had the Gnocchi and Lobster which I enjoyed as well.
I highly recommend this restaurant great views from the many windows.

Great restaurant for a romantic dinner while on vacation in Amsterdam. First class service. Excellent selection of wines with equally excellent recommendations from the staff. Location is fantastic in the center of the city across from the flower market and the mint tower (Munttoren). Compliments to the chef and kitchen for delicious food with eye-catching presentation.

When planning our trip on friday evening, this was one of the few restaurants avaible for saturday evening in Amsterdam. The restaurant is hard to find being hidden behind a nondescript door and steep stairs, we were positively surprised by the quality of food. The wine cart was good as well. Only the service seemed to be a little slow sometimes (we got our wine refilled rather sluggish), but overall it was a positive experience.

Liked ambiance and friendliness of staff very much. Gnocchi, excellent; wine, very good indeed; desserts, excellent; lasagna, disappointing; prawn & quinoa, a little uninteresting; mozzarella & tomato, good; roast piglet, quite good, very fatty; salsify, good.

We enjoyed our experience and would come again. Thank you.

The service and food were simply excellent. Quality of ingredients clearly very high and the staff - unusually for Amsterdam - excellent at providing the exact right level of good service.

Our daughter lives in Amsterdam and we came over to visit and take her somewhere special for her birthday. We certainly managed that. Incanto is located with lovely views over the flower market, canal and bell tower. The restaurant is intimate and atmospheric. We were early for our table but were welcomed with open arms and the service was attentive, but not intrusive throughout. The food was delicious and beautifully presented especially the deserts when everyone at neighbouring tables stretched over to see what you had! My husband said that the tournados of beef just melted and I loved the mozzarella starter. A splendid, special evening, quite expensive, but worth it.

Food and service are top. Its a perfect place if you want different Italian dishes, chefs and waiters are genuine Italians, which makes us feel like we are in Italy with Amsterdam's canal views :) This time the restaurant hostess was a bit unease with the reservation regards the table , even though I made it clear on the reservation the type of the table chosen and we were early. After talks with another male host she granted our wish (a bit against her will seems like...) and from there on it was everything good! Oh and the lightening of the place could be a bit softer. Its a bit too bright if you want to have a romantic dinner...

I was slightly disappointed. Starter was under cooked (poached egg). Seated on the top floor with no ambiance compared to main restaurant. Had to go through the kitchen to the bathroom. Food was ok altogether but nothing compared to my expectations considering I heard such good reviews. Won't be recommending.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful, explaining dishes and offering advice on appropriate wines. Food was delicious - some unusual and effective food combinations but good variety with authentic Italian influence. Lovely friendly ambience. Also good value.
Overall, we had a fun & relaxed evening with tasty food without breaking the bank.

The lunch is with a lot of light and windows to the street and channels. It makes the experience much better. Food is very well presented and the quality very good. We were 4 members and instead of going to menu, we decided to share a couple of starters and each one selected a different main course so we could see and feel different textures (we were all family to taking a bite from each other was acceptable). Wine can be serve on cup which is convenient. Dessert also very good. A little bit slow but good cooking takes time. You can to budget no less than 40€/person (a really minimum budget), ideally 60€/person.
