A rare pearl among our careful selection of the best addresses right now

Excellent
This is one of the best restaurants you can find in Amsterdam. Great cuisine. Great service. Great atmosphere. You'll find indian cuisine at its finest.
Fantastic experience! Owner very atencious! The place have good location and nice indian decoration, the food is autentic and the quality extreme!
It was an absolutely great evening, the selection of chef‘s menue was extremely delicious, the service great and the atmosphere at this little restaurant very nice.
I've visited Amsterdam for work twice. Once in Feb 2019, twice this year. We visited last year and it was an absolute delight, from the service to the beautiful smell and wonderful taste. Everything was so good that we had to stop by this year and I will visit Mayur every time I am in town.

We come each New Year’s Eve (and many times between) and its a great tradition. Food and service always exceptional. We love it.
excellent food, wine, ambiance and service. the butter chicken is not to our taste though, we're the more savoury types, so the lamb, okra and tandoori were winners.
After reading the comments and being familiar with Indian food, I was expecting better than what we had. We took the tasting menu, we were not disappointed though but some of the dishes were not so tasty. I have eaten much better for far less money in Baltis in the UK for instance. I found it ridiculously expensive. Service was good and welcoming.
What an beautiful restaurant! From ambience, food to service, it’s top notch! Thank you for the fantastic evening!
Thoroughly enjoyed....
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and ambiance, friendly staff. In all honesty, I had higher expectations considering the high price tags as well as the reviews I have read. The food tasted good, it was surely nice, but definitely was not "something special" to me, no "wow" effect. As to the portions; too little for what you pay for (it is not about the money, I can afford to pay more....) No, I would not visit again.
Flawless. For Indian food this is the place to be. Definitely upmarket. Great athmosfere. We had the menu with starters from the Tandoori kitchen followed by lamb and mostly chicken curries. The Ristling paired nicely. Top experience.
Heard so Much about Mayur but never got the chance to visit! I must say after 39 years of being open Mayur does rock it. Food is lovely. Service is Great and the interior is classy. A world class establishment. Will be on my shortlist.
Excellent service & very professional for an Indian restaurant, if I may say so. Tasteless food & extremely expensive wine & spirits. All in all, a very disappointing experience, not t be repeated.
Best Indian restaurant in town!! Must go. Has been the favorite of the family for years. Lovely for a romantic, family or business diner. Also very central.
best indian restaurant in town. The vegan mixed plattern is exceptional, always a pleasure to take friends or business relations in this unique stylize and atmospheric place. Feels like being in India for a couple of hours
Like always a great atmosphere and professional service. A pleasure for your taste buds . Great wine. The naan bread is to die for and the tandoori was great .
One of my favourite restaunrant for Indian food, though the spices are less in comparison
The ambience was great and very authentic. But the food didn't live up to the high quality of the decor - it wasn't as flavoursome as we were expecting. The prices didn't correspond to the portion sizes.
Nice experience

Traditional North-Indian dishes for Dutch guests
After a few culinary internships in the United States, chef Pramod Sharma settled in Amsterdam during the late seventies. Here he realized his dream by opening Mayur in 1981, one of the first Indian restaurants in the Netherlands. His philosophy was simple: introducing traditional North-Indian dishes to his Dutch guests, in a warm athmosphere, like people "are dining with us at our home". Thirty four years later, now with help of the next generation, his philosophy for Mayur remains the same: serving great Indian food in a relaxing and beautiful setting, where the guests become part of the family. Namaste, and welcome to Mayur!
