    This was a disappointing experience. We had booked as my daughter and her partner had never eaten in a Michelin starred restaurant. There were only 2 waiters for the whole restaurant. Service was slow and not very attentive. We had to ask for water and the wine pairings were late and very small. The food was bland and flavourless. The wine pairings were not explained to us until the last course. We had two fish dishes - the turbot in the second course was undercooked. The pork was almost raw and had white uncooked fat still attached. It had a chars leave on it . I did not eat mine and no one asked why. The restaurant manager told me when I explained that we had not had a great experience having eaten in Michelin starred restaurants -‘there is a difference between one and two star restaurant s ‘ There certainly is in this case We received a 20%discount of a £333 bill . It was never about the money but the quality’s of the experience and the food .

    The mood in the restaurant is not inspiring. The cooks and the servants seem to not enjoy their work. Only a few guests who were placed in the first floor so that people who pass by probably think there are no guests at all ... Ceiling and windows in the room on first floor are not appropriate for that style of cuisine. I wonder if they will still exist in one year’s time ...

    Cannot fault this restaurant. The whole experience was wonderful from the outstanding staff to each delicious course!

    Had the 4 course lunch menu for 47 euros. All the food was worthy of a Michelin star although nothing about the meal was truly outstanding. If we go again would probably opt for the 3 course menu which at less than 30 euros looked like excellent value.

    Cuisine très raffinée avec des produits locaux . Des plats aussi bons que beaux . Un accueil et un service très efficace tout en restant discret, le tout dans une ambiance moderne , chaleureuse et tamisée ....un régal des sens .

    Le menu du midi (entrée, plat , dessert) est de très grande qualité. Le contenu des assiettes est copieux et coloré. Tous les mets sont pleins de saveurs. En plus de ces trois composants, nous avons beaucoup apprécié le pain maison sans oublier les 2 mises en bouche, l'avant dessert et aussi le " jus de pomme " servi en fin de repas. Le service est rapide , le personnel très professionnel et sympathique . Nous recommandons cet établissement sans hésitation.

About the restaurant

L’ORIGINE – Le restaurant Initial est né d'une collaboration entre Yohann, le chef et Yvan, le sommelier. Son nom fait écho à leurs initiales communes. Ils se sont rencontrés dans un restaurant réputé de Basse-Normandie, il y a quelques années.

L’ESPRIT GASTRONOMIQUE – Yohann élabore ses plats à l'instinct, en fonction des produits du marché et des légumes livrés par ses amis producteurs. Le chef privilégie les cuissons simples et sublime ses plats en ajoutant une touche de condiments. Initiale Y de Yohann.

LA TABLE ET LES VINS – En salle Yvan vous conseillera en vous parlant des vins, de leur histoire et des vignerons. En accord avec les menus, il vous proposera une dégustation de vins de différentes régions de France et d'ailleurs ou vous conseillera pour un choix sur la carte. Initiale Y de Yvan.
