The food was quite nice although the portions were a bit out of balance, the service was attentive and friendly. The (mostly) local wines were OK. The tables for 2 people were placed VERY close together which nobody seemed to like. We asked to sit elsewhere and a couple of people did as well, which they weren’t able to offer all the time (obviously) since the restaurant was full.

Had a wonderful dinner at this lovely restaurant on a quiet street in Aix. Food was beautifully prepared. Our host/waiter was welcoming and well informed about tge food being served.

The service and atmosphere was lovely. The dinner menu was varied and featured local products. The three things we ordered ranged in quality - my husband’s steak and potatoes were very good, my scallops were tender but little to no sauce and they were served with a huge portion of very ordinary and tasteless rice w/vegetables. However, the pasta dish we shared of figs and prosciutto with a creamy roquefort sauces was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten and made up for the lackluster scallops. We’d recommend the restaurant for this dish alone.

Service was rude, sloppy, arrogant, and slow. The hostess us handed us menus with one hand and amuse-bouche (in disposable plastic cups!) with the other. No sense at all of presentation. The attitude was, “These folks look like tourists. Get ‘em in, Get em out.” Dinner was mediocre and unimaginative. Bad potatoes and a crème brûlée with a soggy top. Stay away from this restaurant. The only reason they had diners last night was because it was Monday and the good restaurants in town were closed.

Lovely Provençal and Mediterranean atmosphere with simple but excellently executed and nicely presented dishes. Good and efficient service. One of the best meals in the Aix-Marseille area. Very good value for money.

How lucky was I to find Jardin Mazarin. Just three doors from my hotel, the menu looked amazing and I easily booked online. I was not disappointed. Starting with an amuse bouche, then a cold soup, which was perfect with swordfish of the day. Beautifully presented, excellent service, refined decor and three wait staff to my table with the owner working the tables. All in all, surprises can be rewarding and Jardin Mazarin was just that.

Started with the burrata and the truffles with eggs which were both flavorful and generous! Entrees we’re the monkfish and duck breast. Delicious and well thought out with attention to detail and flavor. Our server selected the perfect local wine to compliment our meal. The tables are close together but we enjoyed the overall experience very much.
