About the restaurant Jeanpagne

Bistro and aperitif bar

Jeanpagne is open everyday from 11 am - and surely that is a blessing. Enjoy a good cup of coffee with some home made cake with your family or friends. And after just stick around for lunch. Actually, you can stay here all day because also the high tea and dinner are not bad at all! A fantastic recruit for culinary Leiden.

We’ve been here quite a few times. And each time they know how to surprise and advice us with the wine or food. It’s diverse and of great quality. It has the French classics, but you also can order a hamburger (very good meat, love it!).
The atmosphere is bistro style, relaxing and not too fancy. Also they have a nice terrace!
If you are looking for a (very reasonably priced) lovely glass of wine or champagne and a bite in Leiden, go visit Jeanpagne.

The staff was great, the atmosphere and prices good, but the food was poor. the waldorf salad was just all mayonaise and not much flavor. The chicken cooked in wine was not special, the french onion soup had a beautiful presentation, but was flavorless.

Small menu with relative simple dishes, but perfectly prepared. My favorite is the steak tartare. Large wine list with perfect wines served by glass. Try the Nappa Valley, worth the price. Service is perfect. The meals took a little too long, maybe something went wrong in the kitchen. But therefore more time to enjoy an extra glass of wine

It was alright, very close to the Christmas market! The wine was really good, the salmon meal was okay. It's just a fair meal for a fair price. The service was really good, the staff is very welcoming and friendly.
