Love the place. Really good for the whole family. Amazing service and amazing food. Will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and family
The food really was fantastic. Which is lucky because it took a long time to arrive. And the service was inattentive. They seemed to prioritise home delivery services over diners.
Entree- the kebab tasted a bit rubbery. The spices were great and presentation was good. The salad/lettuce looked tired. Main- we ordered two curries chicken and beef both were really YUM and gravy did the magic. Tandoori roti were soft and hot. Drinks- we had two drinks each. I ordered beer first and then ordered 2nd time but never got offered a new glass/fresh glass. Then we ordered lassi and both times it was delicious.
Clearly under the pump from a Canberra Friday night takeaway crowd more focused on Pies v Giants than having an Indian fine dining experience, the Jewel still delivers. Terrific, finely honed flavours from their biryani and vegetarian selections means we will be back for more.
Was a lovely meal and pleasent service in the middle of a very difficult time period of early post covid.
We arrived at our booked time. Jewel Of India was about two thirds full. We saw that only one table had food. Our orders were taken reasonably quickly. 30 minutes later still no food had come out of the kitchen for any of the tables. Some people got up and left. A bit later entrees started to come out in a flurry. The tables that had been there before us rightly got theirs first and we received ours a bit later. We saw that some tables had received incorrect orders and their entrees had to be taken away. We had ordered samosas. They were small with not much filling. There was then a longish wait for mains. During this period while waiting for our mains there was a continual stream of what we think were drivers collecting take-away orders and many other people came in to collect their take-away orders. Eventually the mains arrived - missing our naan bread which we were told would follow. Halfway through the meal still no naan so had to ask for it, and clearly it had been forgotten. The naan arrived shortly before we were finished. The manager and waiter apologised for the long wait for food, but it was all a bit of a disaster. While the mains were good we probably won't go back again. The problem appeared to be that the kitchen had been overwhelmed by take-away orders and could not service both those and the diners in the restaurant. Not sure how they will fix the problem as there has been a big shift to take-away due to the Covid shutdowns.
Excellent quality and freshness of food. Every dish has its unique flavour from different spices. Was pleasantly surprised when we ordered a glass of house wine and they serve us a bottle, free flow.
Flavoursome food, good space between tables, comfortable chairs, polite service. The fine reputation of this Indian restaurant precedes it and matches it.
Good Indian food. Worth a visit.
I’ve been coming here since early 1980s. Never disappointed with authentic flavours and friendly service. Family run and each new member has delivered quality and fabulous food.
We’ve been dining at Jewel of India for many years. Consistently wonderful!

Hi , Thanks for a review on Fork. Missed the discount but will surely adjust it next time you visit us. Please remind me(Shonan Ruzario) the next time you are in. Thanks and regards,
Service was outstanding. Lovely staff who made our children so welcome, and gave great advice on food selection. Food was excellent and will go back.
The food was nice and they are very friendly.
Definitely not coming back again. Waited too long for our food. Food too salty.
All good except that I ordered a glass of red wine and the glass was barely half-filled which was disappointing.
Its a very good place to visit.
Good service. Good advice and good service. Skip the pubs and clubs. Table service is the best.
Great food and good service. Best Indian I have had in Australia.
