Johnny Hoopers Saxophone Bistro

Johnny welcomed us to his restaurant and we had a chat about jazz music, he took time to ask our names and where we were from. The food was superb, cooked by his wife Susan. Johnny made it a special night with his amazing saxophone skills and personal touch (Stan Getz mention). The evening includes a music quiz with prizes and dancing to an array of different genres of music, with something for everyone. We read trip advisor reviews beforehand, so expected a great night - we weren’t disappointed! All in, a fabulous night - thank you Johnny & the Team. Phil & Karen from Liverpool.

Great evening out. Johnny made everybody feel really welcome. A really fun evening out despite so few people because of Covid. We will be back again.

We had a really lovely evening at Johnny Hooper's. The welcoming was very good, the food far better than I imagined, as on the Friday evening an entertainment evening. The music and quiz good. There could be some benefit in attracting a few younger people by adding some more up to date music and quiz questions. The music though good is more attuned to the 40s and 50s era, which is fine, but there is room for music from the later eras. I think this would encourage people to go back later in their holiday. Not a negative review at all just giving room for improvement.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere!

We had an absolute blast, from the time we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. We brought drinks to the terrace until they were ready to show us to our table, which I have to add was oy about 10 minutes and we were early. We ordered the food I had the Pork Belly with mash green beans and a spicy just which was really really lovely my other half had the chicken wrapped in Parma ham which he said was lovely to., then of course pudding - no complaints there either!! To be honest it was a welcome change to have mash rather than chips! So the entertainment of Johnny and his saxophone began and wow this bloke can play and the variation of music was amazing.he had the crowd joining in straight away what with the music then a pop quiz followed by more saxophone then a disco it all made for a perfect night out. Must it forget the staff who were all very polite attentive and couldnt do enough for you. Thank you for such a fab night, will definitely recommend to others and will be back ourselves in the future.

Fabulous night - just go you will not be disappointed ! Great food - immediately welcoming from arrival with attentive & friendly staff . Great atmosphere & of course great music & Sax from the man himself ! ????⭐️Will def go again when we return

Just made the holiday ... loved the night, great music great food, great company. Will definetley be returning on our next visit to Portugal.

We went to Johnny Hoopers Saxophone bistro tonight for my husband's birthday. We had a fabulous time. The food was excellent and the atmosphere and entertainment were great. Really a fun relaxing place. I would highly recommend it.

This restaurant was more than we expected. Johnny seats everyone at their table. Food was lovely. Entertainment was the best!! Johnny is a true entertainer.

I had the Stroganoff, and it was right up there with the best I've had
