About the restaurant Kee Lun Palace

Unassuming Chinese restaurant with great menu

If you are looking for good Chinese food for a reasonable price, look no further. Kee Lun Palace, located in the Wagenstraat in The Hague at the heart of Chinatown, serves an appetizing, authentic Chinese cuisine. The menu is extensive, the decor is undeniably Chinese and the staff is efficient and brisk. There is no better way to enjoy Dim sum, Peking duck or Szechuan-beef.

The best place for great Chinese. Some interesting Chinese-Dutch influence on several dishes but Kee Lun never fails to deliver.

Enjoyed the half roast duck piled on top of Chinese cabbage which was a bonus. The beef with Kai Lan in oyster saus was ok. Pity we couldn't order small size dishes so we can have more variation with the 2 of us as 2 dishes was quite a lot for us.

Found this place on Trip Advisor one of the highest rated
From the outside I must say we would never have picked to go there it didn’t look either clean or inviting
However the menu had hundreds of choices x we were a group of four x we chose seven dishes to share
Each dish was excellent x only negative was that the crispy duck was cut into strips and not shredded and was on a plate of multicoloured prawn crackers which were not that appetising
Excellent value portions were enormous x they did offer us a doggy bag but we were staying in a hotel so has to decline
Major negative is that they do not accept cards but don’t tell you so we had to trek to a cash point

It was a little bit chaotic when we arrived. We got a table but nobody wanted to give the menu so we had to ask it. After we had to ask again to pick our order up. The waitress gave us the pen and papier and we had to write down the numbers....the food was tasty but I will never come back... For sure.

The food was okay. However during payment they refused my credit card and forced me to pay in cash or bank debit card. I ended up paying with bank debit card

The Peking duck is only skin and fat without any meat whatsoever. It felt the skin came to our table, while the meat was used to prepare another dish. When asked about it, the waitress told us it is supposed to be like that, which is obviously not the case. We felt completely scammed, specially taking into account it is one of the most expensive dishes on the menu.

I used to be a big fan of Kee Lun Palace. They had the best dim sum for a good price. Last Sunday I visited them again and it was very disappointing. The dim sum tasted bland and salty. The portions where smaller and there was no WOW factor anymore. Which made it even harder to swallow that the interior was still the same old crappy Chinese (especially the toilets) interior from 15 years ago and they upt the prices! Hope they do a better job and give the restaurant a good make over.

My boyfriend and I tried to make a reservation for some dim sum around 19:00 on a Sunday by Phone. I couldn't understand the lady, because she spoke no Dutch or English. Hopefully the reservation went well, because at Kee Lun Palace, it's better to have a reservation.

Arrived on time at the restaurant. had to wait a bit, but that's normal. If you're here for the food; that's awesome! Really good, tasty dim sum, not too salty. We had 6 pieces of dim sum that arrived at the table in a quick tempo, but we liked that. After that we ordered half Peking Duck and Kang Koong, absolutely delicious. Couldn't eat everything, so we brought half of it home with us in a doggy bag.

The Chinese waiter never laughed, didn't say anything to us, but yeah, we're used to that at Kee Lun Palace. The interiour is very old and the toilets are really bad, but if you can look past that, Kee Lun Palace is a great experience.
