We were very pleased with the food and the friendly service at this restaurant. The salt baked fish was good, as were the beef dishes we ordered. Very recommended.
Paella ‘Senyorito’ was amazing and the sepia black ink made it really tasty. Angelito, the waitress, has been very polite and made a very good service.
Very very good!
The lobster seafood paella was very delicious. The restaurant was so kind to provide 1 portion for me as I went there alone. The 50% discount offered by booking at The Fork made the whole thing perfect.
Although food presentation was great. It was missing flavor. The Paella was dry and rice hard. The inside of the restaurant was suffocating. We were seated in a very tight space near the fish tank where the air condition wasn’t even working. We couldn’t wait to finish out meal and get out
I suppose for Catalonian Paella it was decent and was huge portions but don’t get the one with lobster. Paid 26 E more for lobster for 2. Included 2,small lobster tail with 3 bites bland lobster. Also contained good chunks of white fish, mussels, tiny clams, probably cut up squid. Lots of brownish rice. That white Sangria was very good! Our friends had the Mixed Seafood Paella without lobster,23E apiece & they were pleased with it. The waiter said was Fish Paella but he meant seafood. Our waiter was overbearing & really hustled is to get the Lobster. The young bartender in front smiled & he or other young man seemed very nice. Our waiter not so much.
Wait our paella for almost an hour. The flavor is just above average.
L’Amfora bills itself as “Home of the Paella” and has some good reviews, so we went. We got seated outside and ordered drinks immediately. We asked for Tinto de Verano but the waiter said it’s the same as Sangria, get a pitcher of Sangria. We opted for wine and asked for a minute to peruse menu. 40 minutes later, the waiter came back to mention there would be a 10% surcharge for eating outside and pointed it out on the menu. He apologized for not mentioning it while seated but could be he was new and perhaps not a con. The wine was excellent. We ordered the seafood paella and some Tapas—which we only inquired about because we saw a board on wall but waiter had failed to mention. I mean, why’d we want tapas when we had a full price menu in front of us? The tapas were superb, especially the peppers. They were the climax, though. The paella was freshly prepared, but flavor wise, we were torn. I thought it was bland while my partner thought it rocked. Maybe it was the wrong dish, but at the “House” OF the paellla, I would think they’d mastered it. Glad i tried it but kinda wish I could have the 120 minutes of my life back spent there. It would’ve been 60 minutes of the waiter would’ve actually checked on us instead of living his best life on his mobile phone. Note: not a value restaurant.
Really good paella indeed, we had their top line dish including the fish, lobster, crab, scallops, shrimps, muscles etc, admittedly it was our first time to be asked if we wished for the rice to be cooked "Al dente", overcooked, creamy etc. Recommended it, by all means.
Amazing paella for two served by Fabrizio. We even got help to open the langoustine. I recommend 100%!
Asked me if I’d like to order a drink and when I said no still opened a bottle of water and poured it to me, just to add it to the bill later. Soup was average and seafood weren’t very fresh which is a pity
À éviter !!!!! AVOID!!!!!! Way too expensive for the quality. Very small portions!!! Gambas were stale and smelled/tasted like ammonia!!!! ????Paella was just ok but the portion was small. Desserts were honestly really bad. Total tourist trap. Service was not good either. They served us a bottle of water for each person without asking the quantity we want (and we had to pay for it). We were spending 60 per person and not feeling satisfied.
We took seafood Paella and it was excellent. Service was also really good.
Everything was great, service was lovely, but overall i think it was overpriced.
Amazing location and very good service! The paella wasn’t good.... maybe are better another plates...
Second time at L’Amfora and we were not disappointed. Fabulous seafood paella with lobster, very simple Spanish style baked sea bass, and fresh lovely asparagus and peppers. Wait staff was super busy, but so friendly and our food came promptly. Highly recommend for a nice dinner out in Barcelona!
Paella was extremely salty and the rice was a tad too hard. Very pricey too for the quality.
Really good restaurant. Food was great. The service was perfect.
