About the restaurant L'Embarcadère

Another excellent meal in this bustling seafood restaurant. Made to feel even more welcome as they appreciated us returning (visited a few days before). Seafood platter starter was excellent, as was the foie gras. 1K succulent mussles with cream and cooked fish platter also very good, washed down with an excellent muscadet. We shared the tarte tatin again for dessert- huge portion, succulent juicy pears, so good! Great restaurant.

This is an exceptional fish restaurant which is very reasonably priced. Staff were very good, spoke English if you needed it, and were extremely patient and polite, even to a group of boorish rude people near us. Fois gras was superb, as was the fish soup. We went for the largest fish platter with lobster and shared it- all their fish platters are for one person, but they are huge, and if you have a starter and sweet, more than enough to share. Fresh, perfectly cooked seafood, beautifully served. We then had a cheese plate to share, including a lovely sheeps cheese, then the tarte tatin- best we'd ever had. Worthy of its high trip advisor rating. Book now!

Dishes were disappointing with too much lettuce in large leaves. They were very busy with only two serving a full restaurant so service was very slow (but very friendly when they got to us).

Excellent food, fresh seafood- great value for money. The scallops were soft and delitious. The wine menu excellent value
The tasting fish plate was also delitious.
Finished off with three huge profiteroles filled with ice cream and covered in chocolate.... Very yummy and great value!

The food was great and the place and service were good. We were only not granted the advertised offer and provided with vague explanations - it was really disappointing.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious fish. Highly recommended - in fact we plan a return visit! The only thing I would change is for me to have a starter instead of a dessert.

Very nice quality food with excellent service as well. The proportions are great and the atmosphere is very nice as well. Reservations are suggested but I noticed no one was turned away either.

We had a great meal, the fish, mussels and other shellfish were very tasty and the puddings delicious! Definately one to visit if you go to Bordeaux

Choose seafood here -- it's their specialty. We didn't, and wished we had.
