Really good food. Slightly small portions, but great taste and lovely ambience.
Second time I’m coming, still enjoying as much as the first time!! L’invité is one of these good addresses in Amsterdam, not trying it is a sin.
Everything was amazing here, from the attention till the food, a 10!
The owner of l’invité is very welcoming and the atmosphere is simply amazing. Cosy, classy and .. tasty!! I wasn’t done eating that I already shared the address to friends. Definitely coming back!
Prima Tent; wel aan de dure kant
Great Dutch tasting menu with many surprises. Dutch wines to pair with the menu, and an unforgettable creme brulee - prepared the Dutch way!
What a great little place -- charming decor, delicious locally-sourced food (bonus: try the creme brulee!), and very attentive and lovely service. Thank you, Sico. ????
Thank you Jennifer, Yours, Sico
vert tasty dutch food. Very good price and perfect service.
The food quality and taste is very good. The portion size however is small. My husband and I liked the flavor profile of the dished.
Tasters menu erg lekker, smaakvol en mooi om the Zion.
Brilliant hidden on the wonderful canal Bloemgracht. The owners run the restaurant and are engaged in everything giving it a great, personal, feel. The food and wine pairing was exceptional and very interesting. We did the Dutch tasting paired with Dutch only wines and were blown away. Highly recommend it :)
The food was fantastic-original but delicious!
Having one waiter for 5 tables with around 15-20 guests in total meant sometimes there were long waits between the courses. The length of the dinner was in the end OK, but could be done shorter by having 2 waiters (if the kitchen manages). Also, the price was fine if the portions were slightly bigger or more numerous. For 2 tasting menus with wine pairing, almost 200 euros is worth a great dining experience. This was just so-so (comparing price and value).
Nice restaurant, nice decor and good service. And as big positive surprise: wine pairing with only Dutch wines! We did not expect that and were initially hesitant, but the wines were of very good quality, also the Dutch sparkling wine from Zeeland. Food also nice. Small disappointment was that there was only a very small piece of asparagus, that could have been more generous. Besides that we were very satisfied!
Everything was fabulous!! Highly recommend!!
The restaurant is old world canal side Amsterdam and therefore beautifully situated. We had reserved and were greeted by a gentleman who I now believe to be the chef patron, maitre de, waiter, and sommelier all rolled into one, and invited to choose whichever table we wished. The multi functioned host was obviously a one stop shop for all information on the history of the place, the food, the wine, in fact everything, but this did present a few less desirable aspects later in the evening in terms of service and cold food. There is insufficient space to write a full and more constructive review, see Tripadvisor
Haute Cuisine with the Cozy Comforts of Home. Our experience with L ‘Invité was a cozy delight of small locally sourced dishes. The dining room is a balance between the home and haute cuisine. Each dish is presented artfully as one would expect from fine dining. What sets the food apart is the story each dish tells. It’s a social history of the Netherlands. My favorite course was the umami cappuccino. It presented an onion soup with a foaming cheese froth perfectly sweet, savory, creamy. Like all of the cuisine flavor and comfort are in perfect harmony.
Thank you Paul, hope you are fan of the Dutch Cuisine now ;-) Happy NewYear! Sico
The Spa amongst Restaurant: good for the stomach, mind and soul. This absolutely was the best diner experience I had in the last few years. The food was prepared with care, the dishes were well balanced, the atmosphere kind and luxurious and we had a lovely evening yesterday. It's the perfect place to recharge, get out of the rut and stress of the city, relax and regenerate your body and mind. A party for the tastebuds; a great experience; almost felt like a spa. We had a Wonderfull time!
Absolutely fabulous dinner We had the 7 course tasting menu of which L’invite was famous for. The only words I could think of to describe the entire dinner and experience are exquisite and sublime. the flavours delicately balanced. The wine recommended was superb. Our wonderful host - The service was gentle, personable and quietly timed and paired perfectly with the food. Thank you for such a lovely and truly memorable experience.
Anniversary Dinner Fantastic! The tasting menu was simply superb! Gemma was simply wonderful and made us feel so welcome and special as we celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary! Danke je! Kinnet and Chris Ehring
