L'Oiseau Bleu was perfect for our anniversary dinner. The dishes were artistic and super in flavor. It is in a quiet part of town across the river and well worth venturing. After some disappointing and expensive meals in Paris, we were very pleased with L'Oiseau Bleu and would return again. Thank you also for the anniversary acknowledgment.

Delicious meal with interesting pairings and flavors and presented beautifully and timely. We enjoyed the Menu Confiance with 5 well matched wines and several food courses. Our favorites were the crisped skin St. Pierre whitefish with artichoke purée and the main course of tender pigeon breast au jus served tableside from within their delicate parchment wrapper. The dessert soufflé was also stellar but since everything was delectable, I could go on singling things out from the entire menu experience!

This was our second night in Bordeaux and we were still operating on US time so booked for an early (7:30) dinner. The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived but began to fill up as the night wore on. The menu was interesting and all three of us were very pleased with our choices. WE had some laughs with our waiter about our Monk Fish entree as I remember seeing a photo of Julie Child wrestling with a Monk Fish---a very unattractive fish! But the food was wonderful and one other table of guests enjoyed our broken French and our charming waiter. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to friends.
