About the restaurant L'Osteria di Giovanni
GREAT RECEPTION - The restaurant L'Osteria di Giovanni is located in the heart of Florence, near the Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It offers an environment with a rustic, characteristic furniture, embellished by a warm, friendly and always very relaxing.
REGIONAL CUISINE - The restaurant's menu is full of typical Tuscan specialities, with a prevalence of meat dishes. There is no lack fish courses, prepared based on the daily availability. Very good the homemade desserts, such as the pistachio parfait.
DISHES TO TRY - Do not miss the ribollita, pici with sausage and cabbage sauce, sliced beef with porcini mushrooms sautéed and milk-fed veal ossobuco with potatoes.

Resturant owner suncerly LOVES his customers. He vists every guest’s table, to make sure you are well taken care of, introduces options for unique foods, and learns a bit about your visit. His staff follows suit with exempliry service and gratitude for choosing L’Osteria di Giovani. Perfectly wonderful 2 hour meal with exceptional courses and wine selections!

The food was nice, although we couldn’t taste the ingredients promised in the menu.
The service was ok. The waiters were smiling and nice. When we arrived, it took a while until we were approached (we had a reservation). The waiter was a bit clumsy, and it took quite a while to catch his attention at the end for the check (there was a point when the waiters were standing next to the counter with the back to us and talking for a long time).
Overall it was ok. Not a bad experience, but not too special. The food was good.

I’m never disappointed by the quality of the food . The steak is some of the best Florence has to offer.

Too expensive for what you get. 16 Euros just for cover charge when you have too kids is a lot. Food not memorable.

This is a good option for someone looking for traditional Roman food in a family environment. Good food. Good value for money. Otherwise, nothing special. Service was a bit indifferent.

The best place we have eaten during our 8 day trip to Rome and Florence. Service excellent. Food extraordinary and done in Tuscan style. We liked it so much immediately made reservations for the next night. Which also was a special meal.

Staff were really nice, food incredible, wine (Chianti) quite well structured, tanine friendly and notes of red fruit, specially plum at a reasonable price. If you stay in Florence for a couple of days, you must try it.

Nice food and atmosphere. A bit far from the main street and old style, but it is still worthy.
