Au beau milieu de la campagne grassoise trône cette bastide provençale du XVIIIème, fief du chef doublement étoilé Jacques Chibois où il reçoit ses hôtes à table et au lit. Ses assiettes menées par Laurent Barberot subliment le must des ingrédients de Provence, tout en légèreté ensoleillée : célèbre papillon de langoustines en émulsion de pulpe d’orange huile d’olive et basilic, fleurs de courgettes farcies de risotto safrané, pigeon fumé au bois d’olivier, pommes de terre ratte aux girolles et jeunes pousses d’épinards, avant une délicate soupe de fraises des bois à l’hibiscus, crémeux et perles du Japon au citron bergamote ou un Pavlova de fenouil confit aux agrumes et pomme verte... A arroser d’une des 1 600 références de la cave sur laquelle veille Yoann Vasquez.

De ses parents meuniers, Jacques Chibois a gardé le virus des bons produits. Le Limougeaud fera le tour de France la tête dans les étoiles, avec quelques escales à New York et Londres, avant de tomber sous le charme de la bastide en 1996.

    Beautiful located, very nice atmosphere, degustation menu. Very expensive, start was of excellent service, but at the end we were left abandoned a bit. No more water service, sommelier disappeared. Overall excellent food, but very expensive

    WOW garden setting where you can relax and enjoy without overhearing conversations. The staff were really excellent, the service.. polished, discreet and helpful (in terms of translation and explanation). We chose a Tasting Menu with matched wines; the food was beautifully presented and delectable, exceeded expectations. Wines were superb if modest in volume by UK standards. Surely a place to celebrate success or ensure romance. I would have liked to have been offered an aperitif inside before being seated to see more of the hotel. The team provided mosquito repel on request...,you need it if the blighters find you 'delicious'. Bill for 4 exceeded 1000e, for us a very special night out, will return to sample lunch in this beautiful place.

    We visited the Bastide St Antoine nine years ago, and had the best sweetbread that I have ever tasted, anywhere. Since then, chef Jacques Chibois has taken a step back (he’s still involved), and the charming chef Laurent Barberot is now on the front line. The experience (classy holiday ambience, personable service, cuisine) is still marvellous, although we could not find any dish as sublime as the ris de veau of old. For lunch, count on spending 250€ per head (155€ for the lunch menu including wine pairing), but the experience is really worth every cent.

    Beautiful setting, excellent service, fabulous food, especially the homard risotto and excellent wines by the glass. The 2009 Moët and the 2016 Morey Chassagne-Montrachet were perfect for lunch. Highly recommended.
