6/10The restaurant is well situated with beautiful views of the village of Bonnieux from the outdoor terrace. The terrace was large and attractive, with comfortable seating and the interior of the restaurant was also aesthetically quite attractive, albeit a little smoky from the wood fire over which they cook the meats. We were greeted very pleasantly upon arrival and seated at a table with an unobstructed view of sunset. It took quite some time for a waiter to

4.5/10We were disappointed with this restaurant. We felt the food was not good enough for the price - the bread was stale, the vegetables were served boiled with no seasoning and the green bean salad was simply a plate of green beans with a couple of raspberries on top. The lamb shank was tasty but the rest of the food really just very average ie the mackerel and the steak. It simply lacked the French ‘magic’ you so often get from restaurants in the south of France. A shame as the setting is really beautiful.

6.5/10A mixed bag. The room is lovely, located near the highest point in Bonnieux. It had rained earlier in the day, so we weren't seated on the terrace, which has a great view. The meal was accompanied by a pianist and a trumpeter who played and sang jazz standards. Some people like this sort of ambiance; as a musician and a music historian, I don't, especially because it is almost impossible for it to transcend the dreadful cliche of "supper club jazz." We all ordered the focaccia appetizer with truffles, which was excellent. Both of my dinner companions ordered the pork, which they liked very much. I ordered the grilled sea bass, which was large, tough, and flavorless. One cannot simply throw a fresh fish on a grill and call it a dish. I'm unclear as to the exact relationship between Le Bergerie and its Michelin-rated parent restaurant across the courtyard, but my meal was simply not worthy of a star.

7.5/10The ambiance is wonderful and relaxed, however the portions are ridiculously tiny and outrageously expensive. The quality of food is good compared to other restaurants in the area but nothing mind blowing.

9/10The welcome at La Bergerie is very warm and relaxed - the staff are young, personable and charming. The specials are on a chalk board and the main menu you find using a QR code app, which is a good way around the disinfectant issue, I guess, although we didn't realise until we asked that of course the wine list was there too! The food was well-cooked and presented. - my husband's carré de porc was particularly moorish. Main courses served with, on the side (or rather, placed in the middle of the table) a veg and a scrumptious creamy cheesy potato gratin to share; a cute touch! We shared a pissaladière (house speciality) over aperitifs (suggestion of the waitress) which was phenomenal. I thought the wine was somewhat overpriced, given that you can get great local wines at a fraction of the price, but hey-ho - the setting was gorgeous and we were not rushed at all. We shall certainly return when we're feeling rich again!
