La Cambusa

Restaurant just behind the Duomo in the centre of town. Nicely decorated inside. Large choice of mainly fish dishes, but meat also available. Some dishes were excellent (tuna starter, caponata, cozze e vongole, second course of fried calamari, the sardines) and the rest were good. Generous portions. Very attentive service. Honest prices and we were well satisfied.

I booked this restaurant at short notice for an early dinner with 20% discount. We were ushered past the empty outdoor tables into the back of a deserted restaurant, waiters seemed stressed and frantic and we felt like we were unwelcome unexpected visitors not paying customers! My second course arrived while I was still eating my antipasti and my son was given the wrong dish, but the food was very good and couscous delicious. I would have happily returned another evening and paid full price for the food but the service has really put me off, shame.

All the attention and great service received made it just perfect, beside the really great food. Highly recommended for cous cous and in general sea food delicious

Nice Restaurant. Mussels were great. Entrecote was ok. Pasta were good too, but nothing special. Staff was very engaged and friendly. Atmosphere was nice outside, inside seemed a bit like a sports bar.

Sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Personal. Die Gerichte waren schnell und sehr gut. Wir haben einen Tisch mit Trip Advisor reserviert und dazu noch 20% Rabat bekommen. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Average swordfish and tuna steak. Our reservation table (for 2) was located in a separate room with nobody inside although there were free tables outside and inside in main room. It was a little bit creepy eating alone in the empty room.

Everythink perfect

The staff was kind and professional, the dishes we had (octopus salad and "busiati" with fish and aubergines) were amazing. Big portions and super tasty. We definitely recommend it. Staff professionale e gentile. I piatti da noi scelti, insalata di polpo e busiati con spada e melanzane, erano ottimi, saporiti e le porzioni abbondanti. Consigliatissimo!!!

I got the feeling that since we booked with the Fork (with 20% discount), the portions and treatments were different from others. But maybe was my impression.

We had dinner last night! The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Our server was very friendly and attentive to all of our needs . We would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant

Warm welcome, owner although Sicilian born in the UK so English perfect, staff friendly. Food excelled itself swordfish and spaghetti with lots of clams. A nice bio red from Sicily.

We were so disappointed this year with La Cambusa! It's way overpriced with only average food! They are trying to be a fine dining experience when they are not. Had been there last year with a large group & it was a typical good Sicilian restaurant. Good food, decent price. This year was the total opposite. They are serving on high end slate plates with a fancy presentation but throw tiny appetizers from the kitchen on paper plates with plastic forks!! Food is average. You can get much better meals in San Vito Lo Capo for a lot less! I've been going to Sicily for over 40 years & this was my most disappointing dining experience ever!!
