I found La Causerie to celebrate our wedding anniversary as all the restaurants I wanted to book were full or closed. The owner is pleasant and really keen to please, but the decor of the restaurant resembles a rather tired chinese restaurant, with some Zen pictures. The food is fresh, using fresh local products certainly, but generally the tastes are rather bland. There were no Coquilles St. Jaques as a main course, on the torn tired menu and no foie gras either. My wife's samosas were bland and over-cooked, though my St. Jacques salad was good without being exceptional. The main courses and desserts were the same: good but not exceptional and my daughter's fish was full of bones. Shame really, as I felt a real willingness to give customers a good experience, but judging by the few people on a saturday night, something is not quite right.....
