We were four and had booked online that evening. The venue is beautiful with tables by the window overlooking the city in the shadow of the magnificent castle. There is a second row of tables by the wall, nice too but obviously second choice. The restaurant was empty when we arrived. The welcome was not what we’d expect with the manager indicating to the waitress without really greeting us to show us to a table (not set for four) by the wall. We asked the waitress if we could have a window table and she asked the manager. He just said no and did not deal with the request in a friendly or explanatory manner which really set us off to a bad start for the meal. A nice explanation would have been very acceptable as we booked late but we just felt annoyed. In the end the table we asked for never filled (though the other window tables did) so we felt we’d been treated differently maybe because we booked late or booked online or were not local. In fairness the manager did serve the first few courses himself in an effort to make it up to us as he could see we were not happy. So make up your own mind on whether that’s unreasonable of us or poor customer service by the restaurant!! We had the tasting menu which was the only option at €95 a head with wine pairings for 3 of us. The food was very creative and the content was mainly local fish, a lot of raw fish, but tasty. Steak tartare was one dish which two people had and enjoyed though it was a little lacking in flavour. The cooked pork alternative was a bit tough - they would be better to offer cooking the steak tartare a little for customers who don’t like it raw. The meal for four with three wine pairings and a tip came to €600. I had phoned earlier to book but was told I could only book online. Perhaps that’s because you are charged 120 per head for no show. If you’re booking ask for a window table! Of course it may not be available but thems the chances.

Service and location was great. Menu was only ok. Some things just didn't work. The trotter with razor clam smelled like a farmyard. The chocolate with curry was awful and the final pudding was so tart and acidic that I could not eat it. Overall the menu was disappointing and I would not recommend based on this. I don't expect to have dishes that I just don't want to eat

Very very bad food experience. The chef know technologies but can't combined flavors at all. All dishes were failed. Never again. You pay only for the view. Overpriced.

Great service, great view with ocean, blue sky, hilly path leading up to the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Certainly recommend and come back again.

We have being guests in this Restaurant for over 10 years... appreciating always food and excellent Service... Yesterday however we saw a new team in Service, also appearently in the Kitchen.... Food was some ok, not the presentation we were used... the service horrible.. no suggestions on Wine, unprofessional, rather unclean, especially the Women head Waiter, was not at the high of the job, no organisation... and bad reaction as we asked why they refused payments by American Express card... Anyway this was our last dinner in la Ereta.. Shame because we passed a lot of nice Evenings there..

We have herad so much good about this restaurant, that our expectations were high flying. But the fall was even deeper... Even though we had the most expensive menu, only two courses (of the approx 8-10) were good. The rest was uninspired, flat and flavourless, most of it mainly consisting of gelatine. The service was compatibly and adapted - uninspred! One little example: We ordered some water, the waiter came with a (small) bottle, filled our two (small) glasses. The bottle was empty afterwards, and was never seen again. On the bill we found "Mineral Water 1liter"... It was - at most - half a liter... We spent approx EUR 250,00 for an overrated, but below average dinner, with flavourless dishes (except 2 of them). Even though the view was nice, the whole experience was disappointing and not worth the money. We will find better food elsewhere (everywhere in AlicanteI and can only disadise others to sdpend their money here! Unfortunately!!!
