About the restaurant La Gavina

Very expensive, food was average with the paella way below average not to say the worst paella I have ever had. Outside is full of vendors and very noisy. The waiter was ok but he could have spared us his silly jokes. Overall not a good experience

The atmosphere was “ok”. Being that it is on the marina, perhaps glass walls so that you could see out to the marina would be nice.

The food was ok but pricy for the quality. We had a garden salad (good for the traditional style), fried shrimp, good size portion and taste, shrimp/fish paella was disappointing as it was not astounding or impressive and the sirloin which was smoothered in the sauce enough to hid the poor quality of the meat. The steak had a larger than normal percent of fat (1/2 of the steak). Needless to say, the price for the food / atmosphere were not comparable.

It would be nice to also have a non-smoking outside section. Not common for Spain but suffocated by the tables all around us.

La paella tenia poco sabor, la crema catalana nada extraordinario y la cheesecake no daba ganas de comérsela ni mirándola. Almuerzo decepcionante.

We arrived on time, were well dressed and not demanding, yet we were treated very poorly and waited over an hour to pay. Obvious fighting between the 2 servers and the owner/manager was disrespectful to the guests. If I was this chef, I would take my talents elsewhere.

Food came out very fast almost rushed but it wasn't crazy busy. They did not rush us off the table however and the staff was on the most part very friendly and responsive. I had the Gilthead whole fish San Sebastián style and it was delicious. Lovely setting by the water and a moderate noise level. Americans used to no smoking at restaurants (a rule in NYC for years now) be warned outdoor diners in Espana smoke. We were trapped between two smoking tables but the breeze kept the air clean for the most part. Desert was good; all chocolate dishes were very good including the chocolate mousse which is diabetic appropriate but I couldn't tell the difference between it and regular mousse.

Lovely setting overlooking Marina. We asked to sit outside in a quiet spot and we were pleased we did.
Service was efficient, our waiter was very friendly. Food was good and priced fairly for European standards.
Would go back.

Great dinner for a group! was a more expensive dinner for our 2 week trip to Spain, but well worth it. Complimentary champagne too. Highly recommended if you want an outdoor mea near the water.

Wish I didn't eat at a tourist trap for paella, but it was the last day of our trip, we had to get up early, and didn't research and nothing came up for good, local paella. On the flip side, there was a good amount of actual seafood so they weren't stingy there. The price of the bread and dip is listed on the menu, BUT they still bring it to you like it's free. IT IS NOT FREE. But, if you eat it, it's pretty good, so don't feel too bad about it! Olive oil and sardines and minced garlic. The pork paella is too salty, for obvious reasons, but too salty for me.

We had a delightful dinner overlooking the boats in the harbor. Paella was delicious. Service was superb even with a special request to avoid a food allergy item. Very accommodating.
