What a time we had at La Maison Blanche!!! The owner is extremely giving, entertaining, and the service was phenomenal. Throughout the night I was able to play a duet with him on the piano, and the food was fantastic!!! Will recommend this establishment over and over again. When I asked the owner “is this your restaurant?” He responded with “no, it is my home.” He has such passion for this place, and it was an honor to dine here!

The atmosphere is quirky, and the owner has a playful, wry sense of humor, but we found these elements to be wonderful assets to Le Maison Blanche rather than detractors. We mentioned to the owner that we wanted to try absinthe for the first time, and he brought over a bottle and did a couple of shots with us, to our delight! The food was delicious and authentically French. I enjoyed trying Bouillabaisse for the first time. If you can go with the flow and want to have a fun, delicious dinner, you'll have a great time.

Place was hot and no outdoor seating. Dishes were presented well but essentially the same sauces with different foods. Lack of attention was apparent. Somewhat mediocre in retrospect . Calvados ice cream was a bust!.

Delicious dinner. We had bouillabaisse and salmon. Both were excellent. Chocolate fondant dessert was fantastic and they gave us after dinner calvados. Would definitely return!

We were seated immediately and the service was quick and pleasant. We had the house made fois gras and it was some of the best I ever had. We both had the Sole and it was perfect. Lovely almond, apple tort and they brought us some Calvados (famous regional apple brandy) to top off the meal. Highest recommendation.

Fun place to dine. Very engaging and unique proprietor. Food was mix of very good and mediocre. Sole was very good, scallops were metallic. Fondant was excellent.

The food was fine but not spectacular as we had come to expect in Paris and the Normandy Region. The server was entertaining and we chatted with some nice folks at the next table so it made the visit much better. We really wanted the food to be better. Just needed it have proper seasoning, even just salt.

I got the impression this was a very average restaurant by French standards but worked well enough for tourists passing through. The food was fine, the atmosphere was a little heavy and cluttered with a faint smell of smoke.

The food had shortcomings. There was no cidre which is surprising in a Normandy restaurant. Special dietary requests were not treated seriously to such an extent that one guest was served with ingredients which she had specifically stated that she could not eat. Although the fish was cooked well, the rather thick sauce appeared to be very similar for fish with mussels and for a bouillabaisse [no rouille, no croutons]. The fish dish was said to be accompanied by petits legumes but actually came with only potatoes in the sauce [although a starch allergy had been notified]. The starter cheese dish involved what looked like ready sliced bread. What appeared to be salad from a packet, was brown around the edges and served with [not tossed with] an industrial style vinegary dressing. The same salad appeared with a mushroom omelette that was weeping mushroom juice. On a positive note, the apple tart was good. But, the dessert muffin looked bought in, as did the profiteroles. Finally, the bill was miscalculated.

Not as good as I expected from the reviews. The night I was there all 6 of the parties appeared to be American. Do the French know something we don't?? Bouillabaise, one of their specialties had 3 small mussels, some whelks (overcooked) and a piece of whitefish, also overcooked. Was tasty but on the small side. Apple tart for dessert was uninspiring.

This booking was based on previous reviews and the place may have had something to live up to. On a quiet Wednesday in February restaurants might struggle even for Valentine but thank goodness we had booked; not a spare table in sight and not surprising either. From the warmth of the welcome to the quality of the food and ambience of the restaurant, all was just as previously described in complimentary reviews. Well done Tripadvisor; another success.
