Charming restaurant! Food was amazing. We were offered to order off the menu or have the chef make us special entree, we did both and our pasta and beef were delicious. Service was superior. Highly recommend to anyone in the Lake Como area.

While the food was very good, the service was appallingly bad; pretentious and demeaning to the guest. When I asked about the preparation of the "aubergine" appetizer (we are in Italy, right?) I was told it was "eggplant". The service was brusk and not warm nor welcoming. The menu and extensive wine list are only on line, the later sorted by the first letter on the label. Cell phones on the table are not a sign of fine dining.

We travel frequently to Lake Como, and La P'osteria is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is excellent, and the service is always great. Super little family-run restaurant hidden next to the river that runs through Argegno. A great find.

Lovely atmosphere. Great service. Delicious food. A go to restaurant if you’re in the neighborhood. Parking nearby and dog friendly. So go and have a nice time.

We were extremely disappointed by the service and quality of food upon our visit to this restaurant . We travelled very far to visit this restaurant for dinner, as my Italian friend recommended it and I was excited to try a new place with my friends who were visiting a como for the first time. I am American, but my husband is Italian and we have dined many times in Italian restaurants, so I understand what to expect in terms of services and protocol : On this occasion my husband was not dining with us, and my Italian is limited , so I’m sure it appeared we were just foreigners, and we were treated accordingly. We were left to sit for long periods of time , our order was wrong and multiple items forgotten , there were bugs in the food. The food arrived burnt, and appeared to have been old or leftover scraps from a larger plate of food. It very much felt as if we were not given the same treatment or quality of food as the Italians dining close by. There was no language confusion as the waiter was also the concierge and spoke fluent English . They just didn’t seem to care about giving us the same care and attention as we were “ just foreigners “. I have never been treated this way in a restaurant when I am accompanied by my Italian husband . I was incredibly disappointed and will never go back to the restaurant again . It gave me a poor impression of Italian service in restaurants . I felt that my money was wasted as the food and service was terrible . I will make sure to tell people to be aware that they should not go to this restaurant if they are not Italian , as they will not be treated as equals

Some dishes did not meet our rather low expectations. The fish butter smelled of old fish, part of the lamb could not even be eaten.

This restaurant has a fantastic setting beside a river course. Great atmosphere! The choice of the food was great, the staff was very friendly.
