We had been in Venice for about a week in an apartment near Ferrovia. We asked the owners of the apartment to recommend some typical local restaurants in the area that were not tourist magnets - La Patatina was one on their list.

We arrived for a late lunch in their garden. The meal was excellent, probably the best we have had since we arrived. It was a bit expensive but well worth the cost. The service was excellent as was the ambiance.

We plan to recommend La Patatina to friends who will be visiting Venice later this year.

La Patatina was delicious!! Our only disappointment was we waited for quite awhile to get attention from our waiter to order a drink/wine and also to get menus. the seafood risotto was outstanding

We had been here 2 years ago and the service and food were much better. The waiter continued to try and upsell us on very expensive bottles of wine which I found very offputting.

The presentation of the food was beautiful and the locals was great.

AWFUL!! Mentioned on booking it was for my partner's birthday they gave us the worst table by the sliding door which kept opening throughout the meal. No acknowledgment AT ALL of my partner's birthday. Service staff was willing to close and really made us feel we should rush our dinner. food was average and clearly overpriced. A lot of waiter but no one ever topped up the wine and they charge 12% service charge!! We live in London where restaurant charge 12% service but at least we receive service which was clearly not the case here at la Patatina. Cheese plate was overpriced 19 euros for 4 pieces of cheese and no explanation given of the cheeses no bread served either. Do not go

We have been to the restaurant before, so we know how good the quality and professionalism of the staff are the fillet of beef cooked medium to perfection the timbal of vegetables nicely cooked very well presented as was the scampi, squid and zucchini. The torte of the day was a very light chocolate cake warmed with a very good marmalade twist and a marbled white and dark chocolate stick, and a subtle chocolate cheesecake light buscotti base one wedge may not be enough. The Prosecco medium dry with a hint of citrus. Just a cafe latte to finish save the grappa till later. The chef is excellent at his profession. At one of the other tables one of the waiters was de boning fish before serving a noble art that hopefully is kept alive here. Lovely meal in good surroundings a very nice evening. Booked for next year.

This place was awful super overpriced and misleading. Stay far away.

Example was $50 Euro lobster rissotto for 2 has no lobster in it and took an hr to prepare. When I asked where the lobster was they said it melted into the rissoto....not how that works.

Another person in our group got a surprise $70 Euro tiny portion of fish charge. The staff also seemed really stressed out the whole time.

This place ruined our last meal for our family. Bad food, service, bread, wine, elevator music....yah the worst.!
