About the restaurant La Savie

Although rural, easy to find. Meal was simple but all courses were excellent exquisitely balanced in flavour. A definite must return.

Lovely food, delightful location and charming host. Thank you so much Frederic for such a fantastic meal - our Australian family loved everything about your wonderful restaurant. (tip for drivers - follow the road signs! Restaurant is very well signposted from Meyrals village, but for some reason GPS tries to lead you astray).

We booked to eat at La Savie on recommendation from the Gite owner and was not disappointed. The ambience and surroundings are Beautiful, the service was top notch and most importantly the food was superb. The only downside was that we found it too late in our holiday to be able to return. However, we would happily recommend it.

La Savie is a remarkable restaurant. It is in a beautiful old restored barn - probably two or three hundreds years old. It is out in the country, but a very quick drive from Les Eyzies, and we didn't have any trouble finding it. Once you get off the main road there are signs for the restaurant at each turn. The food was incredibly good, very creative, and a nice change from the typical regional dishes. The fruits and vegetables were really the stars, although the meat was excellent. We started with a twist on a caprese salad. The second starter was a summer roll with a filling of eggplant and beautifully arranged vegetables and flowers. The main dish was a pork and rice dish with vegetables and Asian flavors. Dessert was fresh strawberries and homemade ice cream. Everything was beautiful and delicious. The chef spent quite a bit of time talking with us, in his perfect English. Try this place - you will be glad!

It is a lovely place to have dinner .
Easy to get to as it is very well sign posted.
The food is excellent ; well served , good portion and very tasty.
The service is ok it could get better overtime but who cares if you are on holidays.
The venue is beautiful and you can even get to see the stars if you finish late.
So I would definitely recommend it.

We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. Excellently balanced, very fresh and perfectly prepared food from local ingredients (including flowers and herbs from the establishment's own garden), served by friendly staff. The atmosphere is informal and relaxed, the wine menu lists local wines (as well as wines from most other notable regions in France) -- we had a red wine from the Périgord Noir, which complemented the dishes perfectly. No heavy food, but light dishes of just the right size -- no silly creams, not too much salt, not too much sugar. You will leave this place satisfied, and looking forward to coming back soon.

Quality of dishes outstanding, most ingredients grown on site, others sourced regionally. Waiter friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgable regarding all dishes, very welcoming. Chef presented to the table for feedback and a chat (in English). Brrief tourr around property after lunch with introduction to the goats, chickens and cat. All in all - delightful.

This restaurant is off the beaten track and a bit of a challenge to find, especially at night, but it is decidedly worth the trip. The service was welcoming, the food was inventive, and the setting was stunning. On a beautiful August night, we sat in the garden and enjoyed carefully prepared, artfully presented food. Definitely worth seeking out.

Fabulous!! The food was amazing! It was the 2nd best restaurant we ate at during our 2 weeks in France. The food was beautifully presented and so much of the food is grown or made on their property. The service was so friendly, and the setting was calm and pretty. We would recommend it to ANYONE!!!!
