My husband and myself had a wonderful dinner at La Scialuppa. we ordered Seafood soup and octopus salad for appetizers. TERRIFIC! a bottle of the regions white wine. Risotto w/ seafood and the mixed grill for main meal again terrific! dessert was chocolate mousse and the regions cake. all yummy w/ limoncello!!! The service was excellent even the waiter brought us another shot of limoncello after dinner. We ate outside in their covered tent w/ heaters and a guitarist played. The tent was filled w/ guests and it was truly a wonderful evening. Food was fabulous and we had a short walk to our hotel.

Over priced, nothing special, rude staff. A 100 euro of lunch for two with only one course! unbelievable.

This is the only restaurant we tried without a recommendation. I had caprese salad. The mozarella was poor quality, the tomatoes flavourless which is quite an achievement in Italy, and the basil was black around the edges. The pizza was a diavola and the salami was of poor quality. The base was very soft and unpalatable and there was far too much cheese. We complained and they offered a free limoncello...which they normally do in Italian restaurants anyway. They charged us full price. It is quite popular with tourists and in a good position, so if you do not care about what you are eating, it is fine to visit.

Amazing setting, live guitarist and singer who gets you totally in the singing mood and delicious food! Would highly recommend it during a trip to Napoli.

The setting was beautiful, and the food was excellent. But the unhelpful-ness of the staff made the experience less enjoyable than it otherwise could have been.

Nothing to get excited about at this restaurant food is normal and service is awful just to give an example we ordered fish cakes and they brought us octopus, when i asked again for the fish cakes they said have octopus as we don't have fish cakes today i have never encountered something like this at a decent restaurant.

Staying at Hotel Transatlantico next door. As their restaurant is closed on Tuesdays I decided to try La Scialuppa. But was disappointed, as the food at Scialuppa is both lower quality and more expensive than Transatlantico.

We found the food to be quite disappointing, This place was recommended by a friend...as this was my boyfriends Birthday, I ordered the Salt Cod Spaghetti which comes with king PRAWNS, I had one tiny king prawn, and the fish was so finely shredded you wouldn’t know it was there!

Everything was wonderful at this lovely restaurant that offers superb cuisine. The issue we had was that the waiters treated those of us who are Americans distinctly different from our Italian counterparts. Granted, we understand that politically America has made some unacceptable choices, but the staff at the restaurant should not allow that to impact their professionalism.

The outside covered-up part in the water is too cold and droughty for the winter. Ask a table indoor (unless you want to eat with your jacket on or you want to catch a cold). The food was good.

About the restaurant
