10/10This was our first to this restaurant. It was really good. The interior was amazing. We loved the fact that the chef visits your table with the steak to explain the piece you have chosen. It was then cooked immaculately. The food was amazing.

7.5/10Beautiful restaurant with commendable attention to detail and helpful staff. A lovely place to eat, but cooking could be more accurate - two steaks ordered ‘a point’ - one was perfect the other was well done. If your beef is great meat (which was, indeed, great), make sure it’s cooked precisely, especially at the prices charged.

The food: Even though the meat was really nice and had a smokey flavour to it, everything else was underwhelming: - the vegetables were tasteless and the soft structure felt overcooked; - the blue cheese sauce was watery and tasteless; - the béarnaise sauce tasted buttery; - the échalotte sauce consisted of onions drowned in red wine vinegar; - the portions were tiny and very greasy; - the amuse gueule was shoved in front of our faces without any explanation, upon request the waiter was not able to explain what it contained. 2. The service: We had to attract the attention of the waiter several times for various reasons (drinks, food, check). Upon payment the waiter didn't even ask whether we enjoyed our meal. 3. The scene: Inside the authentic cloister it was uncomfortably hot, an easy resolution could be placing a couple of fans inside. While sitting at the table you could see the cooks sweating and touching all of the food with their bare hands. Glad we did not order any salads.

9.5/10Second visit here and I am happy to report that La Table du Couvent remains at the top of its game. From the exquisitely well prepared oeufs cocottes to the perfectly cooked wood-grilled beef, this is surely the place to come to taste the real boeuf de limousin. Service is always attentive but never overbearing, and Ronan gets my vote as one of the best servers in France. A modest but well chosen wine list and a superb chariot de fromage round off the experience. The defining room is a real treat as well. Where else can you eat beef while a life-sized stuffed steer looks on with approval! Very much recommended.

As always, was made to feel very welcome. The food is amazing, cooked over the fire so has a smoky hint. Dessert of the day was delicious, and the cheese selection as always, was superb

5/10Good food, but not better than in others restaurants in Limoges, and very very long service : 15mn to get the menu, 1h and a half to get the main course ! First time and last time I went there. Really disappointed.

10/10This restaurant is strongly recommended. I really enjoyed excellent quality of beef with very reasonable price, and good wine. And also, restarurant staffs provided me with excellent service. I would like to visit this restaurant again even though I live in Paris.

9/10Very nice venue catering for the (but not just) meetlovers. Fresh produce with meats prepared on the chargrill. Staff got a bit pushy toward 10:00 PM, trying to get desert orders and coffee fixed, while we were still enjoying our wine, which was recommended by the host. Subtle background music didn’t fit the place, as was mainstream. Otherwise overall (very) satisfied, can highly recommend and will go again at next opportunity.

9/10Great little find, venue great, service very good as was the food, some people may say slow but a nice feel that your not been rushed out the door. Nice young English speaking waiter who served us drinks, could have been helpful if he had taken our order for a better description of some of the items on the menu. As our French is very poor Would not hesitate about going back going back.
