Entrar en La Taula es introducirse directamente en otro mundo, en un bistró francés old style del que parece que vaya a emerger en cualquier momento un familiar lejano de Proust. Este restaurante ubicado en una callejuela de El Putxet es clasicismo y exquisitez en estado puro: grandes cortinajes que envuelven prácticamente todo el local, vistosas mantelerías y un servicio a la antigua que se va a encargar de que todo sea perfecto.

El chef Daniel Feraru en los fogones y su mujer Sandra Vílchez en la sala ofrecen al personal un ambiente siempre casero y familiar. Y platos tradicionales con un punto contemporáneo, de clara vocación gourmet, que van desde el taco de foie y setas con confitura de higos, las vieiras asadas con cremoso de chirivía, huevas de arenque y vinagreta de tomate o la presa ibérica con un toque asiático, cuscús cítrico, pistachos y sésamo. Tienen un menú de mediodía más que interesante a 16 € y diversas opciones para menús de grupo hasta 32 personas.

This is a quiet homey place with excellent service. Food was good. Order the pre fix menu. My husband didn’t and was disappointed. It’s a nice change from bustling noisy restaurants.

We had a Sunday afternoon dinner in early September. The Confit of Duck, the Filo with Goat Cheese, the Catalan Creme Brulee and the coffee were especially delicious. The dish the Michelin website recommends is no longer available, and neither were a few other of the menu choices. The service was very attentive and unobtrusive. Every other client (and the restaurant was nearly full) was Spanish, many who obviously come frequently.
