I never received confirmation of my booking, but went anyway.
The service was horrible, but the food was good. I was not impressed and expected better based on the reviews.

This was a booking for my wife’s 60th birthday and was chosen as a tripical Roman style restaurant within walking distance of the Colosseum. It features on a number of websites/blogs as an authentic place to eat away from the tourist traps alongside the Colosseum. What a joke! Although my booking advised the significance of the occasion and I asked for a nicely sited table (but nothing else and as two of our children had also come to Rome to celebrate with their mother), we just got a table right inside the door, so everyone passed us coming in. The welcome couldn’t have been more dismal, two miserable men greeting us and subsequently serving us. I should have got up at that point and said ‘let’s go’ All in all, the worst meal in both Rome for 5 days and Tuscany for a further 8. You should avoid this restaurant at all costs. We had far better food at a cheaper price in ‘the tourist trap’ restaurants around the Colosseum.

Our female server was as nice as can be and very attentive.
Her skinny almost balding coworker had simply a very terrible attitude.
Very abrupt. Raises his voice and is very passe.
What was the worst though was how at the end when I paid with a card they automatically processed it jn US Dollars, something I haven't experienced at alll for the past month traveling through Italy. I asked why he did that, and he very sternly as if im an imbicile told me that is normal. I said it is not and now we just paid 8 USD more than it was worth. He raised his voice and I stood up and refused to let a rail thin balding greasy man going through a mid life crisis try to patronize me just because I'm a woman..
I will obviously never eat at this place again, and I hope my review can save you from shady business.

Good restaurant with original Italian food. We visited this place during lunch time via prebooking on TripAdvisor and restaurant was fully booked mostly by Italian families, which is good recommendation for food quality. Very simple, no luxury interior but good Italian pastas, bruschetta and meat steaks with vegetables for reasonable price. We paid for two persons lunch 2x(bruschetta, pasta, Peroni beer, espresso) 36 euro, including 20% discount for online reservation. Good practical choice for Italian food close to Colosseum area!

Intimate family establishment with delicious food. Excellent value, and not touristy, even though it's near the Colosseum. We ate a variety of pasta dishes, a pizza, and a vegetable side. The oxtail rigatoni, cacio de pepe, and the carbonara were fantastic! It was the least expensive meal we had all week in Rome, and one of the best by far. We had a nice bottle of wine, and the total was around 80 Euro. We would all highly recommend!
