Penne alla siciliana. 25 CHF. Oh my god - it is the most wonderful, simple trattoria in Geneva. The staff are a little bored of serving the same thing for a generation, but for all the rest of use enjoying it for a generation, long may it continue.

This restaurant has had remarkable consistency in the quality of the pasta particularly my favorite, the penne alla Siciliana. Good wine selection and many choices of pizza.

Looking about for just a solid place to get dinner in the middle of a work trip and weekend vacation in Geneva and La Trattoria was exactly what we needed. Walking distance from the business district across the lake from Old Town (and easy walk from train station). Generous portions made it a great value and the delicious food made it a great dinner. Good wine selection, large menu, and attentive (if a little grumpy) staff... The appetizers were large enough to be a meal on their own (fresh salad was very fresh and the "focaccia" was the size of a pizza). My wife's pasta was delicious as was my entrecote in mushroom sauce (I ordered a tomato based sauce, but was happy with the substitution honestly). And the dessert was fantastic - chocolate shell around gelato melted with flambé orange liqueur making for a wonderful orange/chocolate sauce. Highly recommended!

Restaurant apparently living on its past glories, but quite mediocre today. The pizzas were good. The entrecôte was like leather and quite uneatable.

Always nice at La Trattoria. Try the Penne a l'Arrabiata. Deliciously spicy! We were on the terrace... a bit noisy, because traffic, but still very pleasant!
