About the restaurant La Traviata

A lovely family restaurant with delicious, rich food. More expensive than other similar traditional restaurants in the city, but a nice experience with the proprietress detailing the fresh pastas and dishes of the day at your table.

Unfortunately my lasagne had very little ragu and was very bland. Maybe because it was the corner piece and missed all the sauce? They added some ragu but it still wasn't great. The atmosphere was good, but we were disappointed. My husband had rabbit pasta. The rabbit was tasty.

We've been to La Traviata twice and both times it met the same high standard. It is a very friendly family run establishment offering traditional Bolognese dishes with home made pasta and crescente. There is a good wine list too. We had the local Sangiovese which was excellent.

Food was honest and good! Most pastas are handmade. Portions are small. Frequented mostly by localS. Overall good food and service (owners) but nothing wow! Risotto was ok, and other local dishes and pasta were good, but again, nothing special.

It was the second time we went to La Traviata.
The first time time was some years ago and we loved it so this time was to celebrate a birhday.
As the previous time, we were welcomed so nicely by the owners and staff.
The food was wonderful!
We had some antipasti and then first course, tagliatelle with ragu, asparagus and orange which was so good.
The Tiramisu ended the great experience and we loved it!
Thanks so much !

We had a reservation and were seated right away. As we were there the room filled to capacity. Traditional Bolognese food. The owner is a vivacious friendly woman who took our order. Tables are set closely which allows chance conversations with neighboring tables. Can highly recommend it, fun and filling time.

Previous reviews were right, the food was great and the place was lovely. The restaurant was packed full and of mostly local people, so we knew we made a right choice by going there. The wine was delicious (a local wine from Rimini). I would only recommend that the staff pick up a bit more English...

Apparently our reservation via TripAdvisor never was received. However they managed to get us in.
They are quite pushy in promoting their specials. From pasta to the wine, they clearly know what they want to sell.
The antipasti where fantastic, so was the pasta. The main course was average and we experienced better in Bologna. The dessert was another so so.
So up to the pasta everything was really nice, after that it was not more than average.
Maybe we expected more when we read the very good reviews.

Antipasto was very good and the zucchini flowers were amazing, unfortunately we felt a little down from there on. The owner took over our order and delivered 2 varieties of tagliatelli which were a little bland. Pudding was again a little of a let down and 2 Strawberries were severed with a bowl of Mascarpone cream. The bill came to 70 euro + with only one glass of wine. Over charged to the tune of around 6 euro which we didn't quibble but we won't return. Disappointed and over priced. School report - could do better, must try harder.
