What a unique place this in the picturesque Cale de la Vallee by the sea overlooking the busy slip. The staff managed by the very friendly Cedric are lovely, the location is amazing , the food is exceptional and it comes with a large leather bound wine list. Always a good sign. Breakfast from 8 to 10 am is a wonderful array of freshly baked croissants and bread warm from the hotel kitchens, local yoghurts and wide variety of fruit preserves, salted caramel, honey served by Eric who can never do enough for you. Ask for coffee from the machine rather than the filter or a pot of tissane. Just a shame on our last day we wanted the large table by the corner window and 2 walk ins got there first! What a cheek. For lunch I loved the grilled lobster (to die for) and the turbot. Very delicate flavours. We enjoyed the seafood platter with a delicious Sancerre rosé. Yummy oysters and langoustines from Cancale. Just lovely to sit on the terrace to watch the passersby and enjoy a leisurely meal

Not a good experience. On arrival we waited while the staff busied themselves behind the bar (they weren’t dealing with customers). They then couldn’t find the reservation (despite showing them the fork email) We then waited for ages for a menu - and still weren’t offered an aperitif. Finally things approved - although one of the starters was poor and didn’t match the menu, and I think the main course sole was previously frozen. We ordered deserts and had to wait a long time for them. At 9:30 (2 hours after our reservation) the staff then noisily started moving tables around for breakfast.

We have been coming here for several years the view is stunning, the seafood delicious and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Look out for the toilets wow factor .

I have known this restaurant for 50+ years. It is well positioned on the slip looking over the Rance and St Malo. It was an overcast day and I had an inside table with a view of the slip and passers-by, although there was a terrace with parasols I could have chosen. There was a friendly welcome for me and my little dog in the light and airy entrance hall. The menu had a good choice, reasonably priced, but I settled for my favourite, a belle sole meunière with boiled potatoes and a glass of cider. It was attractively and promptly served. I had an early lunch and the restaurant filled up. It was lovely to see the old building that I knew well was bustling with local and visitor diners. I will go again.

This restaurant is NOT suitable for vegetarians. We booked here because it is stated as vegetarian friendly. There was only one starter on the whole menu that was vegetarian, tomato tartre with mustard I’ve cream - incidentally this was delicious. I had stared when booking and when I arrived that I was vegetarian, which meant no meat or fish. The waiter left (I assume to talk to the kitchen) and then came back and said they could me a selection of vegetables for main to which I agreed. When they arrived they were as stated. It was a nice selection of fresh vegetables. My first mouthful was fine but then as I ate on it was evident that many of the vegetables smelled and tasted fishy. This was very frustrating and disappointing and I left about half the dish, smelling each vegetable before eating. When I mentioned to the waiter he just said ‘sorry’ and we were still charged €21 for this. My husband enjoyed his meal so would recommend for omnivores.

Amazing service! The people and the food made for a great night! We had the meet and salmon, both great! The view is pretty cool as well. Highly recommended!

Nothing particularly to merit a michelin mention apart from the location. I have had much better lunches in other restaurants. Adequate; nice oysters, nice langoustines - nothing else on the menu tempted me.

La Vallee is a great food, super nice team and service right in Dinard. We were two families with teen agers and everybody had a great time.

I was pleased with my choice of the restaurant for my friends on the night. They were quite pleased with the food and the service. We will for sure go back there again, by the way the decor and the sea view was very pleasing.
