During our five night stay in La Caleta we had been recommended to eat at La Vieja. We liked it so much we returned there on our last night. Everything about the place is classy. The staff are attentive, polite and professional and the food is superb. Would highly recommend.

A visit to La Vieja is a memorable experience from start to finish. The location and interior are first class. Staff are very welcoming and provide an excellent service. The food is outstanding - there is an interesting menu as well as daily local catch fish to choose from. Value for money is also fantastic for the experience and quality delivered- would highly recommend visiting - busy so booking which is easy on line probably best.

The restaurant is an exceptionally run establishment The service was attentive and very knowledgeable. The menu was manageable and we selected the local specialty. Turbot casserole with local potatoes and shared a divine apple pie with ice cream. The recommended wine was excellent. It may sound like they are paying me to write a review but when an experience deserves the plaudits I am happy to give them. Likewise I can be highly critical but on this occasion I can only write an exceptional review. Well done team.

So, the service was good. Most important thing that I ask about the fish, fresh or frozen, the lady told me that sure fresh. In fact it was salted and cooked. But not fresh!!! 30€ per portion. I was sad because she didn’t told about it. All other dish was nice. But the whole impression about the restaurant was sad.

Food was the main issue unfortunately… Not premium at all and still have some doubt about the freshness of some products (frozen for sure). We had a great experience there in 2024, something has changed. Not sure I will recommend or visit again

The behavior of the administrators was a bit surprising. On the negative side. I suggest you think about the meaning of the words RESERVATION and VISIT TIME.

This evening we returned to La Vieja after enjoying a nice meal last year when we visited Tenerife. However, this time it was atrocious. On arrival, the dining area was hot. They had closed the plastic covers that faced the Sea and had put on the heaters. It was like a sauna. We ordered grilled baby squid to start and prawns with potato salad. The order was incorrect when it arrived as I was presented with fried calamari. I sent it back and waited 10 minutes for the baby squid. On the whole the starters were fine but nothing special. The mains, we ordered Red Tuna (grilled medium) and Cod Loin with garlic potatoes. Yuk! The tuna was uncooked and the Cod ridiculously salty. We sent both dishes back. The tuna came back, this time medium (pink) but unseasoned. The re-ordered Cod was again very salty. We returned the Cod and settled for calamari instead. On the whole, a very poor dining experience at La Vieja. The staff were pleasant and apologetic but let down by bad cookery from the chef

Great location, beautiful atmosphere and lovely service but sadly the menu was very limited and the quality of thd food wasn't great. All the choices of pasta or risotto dishes can only begin ordered for a minimum of 2 diners. There is only 1 choice of meat main course. I had mussels which were tepid and came in a bland watery broth with French fries which weren't cooked. Thankfully my partners Black Grouper was more palatable. Nice place but we wouldn't return as it's living on its reputation not the quality of its food.

Truly one of the best fish restaurants in Adeje. Perfect location, with a beautiful vista, right on the ocean. The service was extremely good: super friendly, knowledgeable, unobtrusive. And the food was simply divine. Get the black potatoes with kimchi mayonnaise and the grilled sea bass. A brilliant experience.

The sea bass was not filleted very well and we had quite a few bones that was not pleasant. We ordered French fries and they were cold and full of oil. We have eaten at La Vieja many times when on holiday in Tenerife and this was our worst experience.

We shared the prawns and baby scallops and tuna carpaccio for starters. These arrived very quickly. We enquired about the local fish for 4 and went to the fish counter to select a red fish which was meaty and served with potatoes and oil.We ordered two bottles of white wine , the second was with our dessert, beautiful basque cheesecake. The service and everything else was good until the restaurant thinned out then the staff started talking in groups. The wine was delivered and we were not invited to try it nor offered fresh glass but most importantly we had to pour it ourselves unlike the first bottle. The bill was 308 Euros with a recommended 30 Euro tip. We left 22 Euros due to the wine situation . When we left the waiters were sulking in a group of three again and did not say goodbye. A perfect evening was spoilt by 15 minutes of laziness after a great experience to that point. The response was unprofessional and waiters should not act so entitled.
