4/10The ambience is very nice, however it’s a bad restaurant in a hotel. Unfortunately nothing from the food was really acceptable, the cod and tuna we had as main dishes were not tasteful and mixed with way too many textures and side on the plate which also were just bad. The chocolate bomb we had was overly undercooked and the passion fruit sorbet was having ice crystals in it as if it was defrosted and frosted a couple of times or just old. We were sitting on the terrace and the service unfortunately was just not there, we had to wait until we could re order the wine, when it arrived we were almost done with the food. However nice terrace and nice atmosphere.

10/10We had an amazing dinner at the Lapa restaurant. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the ingredients were carefully selected to create a delightful explosion for our taste buds. We highly recommend eating at the La Lapa!

4.5/10Servers messed up half of our orders. Food presentation is overly complicated for its tastes which are quite bland and sometimes conflict with each other. The only nice thing about it is the interior.

9.5/10Dinner here was exquisite tasting and beautifully presented - we highly recommend the “two fish” entree of red snapper and scabbard fish. Service was very slow but super courteous. We sat in the peaceful courtyard and watched the light fade over the cliffs. Very romantic setting.

8/10The chef apperantly does a very good job Good choices , good timing, food presetation is amazing, food was served hot But the service staff dont do justice, it is clear they are summer temps , no knowledge of how a five star restaurant customer should be served

6/10Service far too quick to start with, courses brought too quickly. Description of some courses inaccurate, vegetable crepe was a spring roll, so ended up with two courses in pastry. Honey cake in filo was pastry with creamy filling. Description was not to do with translation

9.5/10Tasty, creative food; very attentive and professional service. Fresh and savoury lapas, delicious beetroot pasta and vegetarian risotto. The staff is always friendly and polite, trying to accomodate all requests. A good balance between quality and innovation with a fair price. We will return!

8/10The food was very good. They need more staff here as the one guy was running around doing everything. We do know staffing is a problem at the moment. The lighting needs to be adjusted downwards so it doesn’t feel like a cafeteria.

9.5/10A surprisingly varied menu with a seafood focus, and a chef more than happy to adapt dishes for allergies etc. I had a delightful mixed seafood (prawns, scallops, and limpets) starter with some well-considered seaweed style salad which lifted the whole dish well. “Surf and turf” was tender steak, perfectly cooked white fish, and a few more limpets, with a lovely sweet potato mash the chef provided instead of the default which contained dairy. The restaurant is light and airy, and very quiet when we visited for a mid-afternoon Sunday lunch. We will definitely be returning.

4/10The menu looked interesting but the food itself was definitely style over substance - fancy looking plates with lots of excess garnishes (including a nasturtium flower that was crawling with insects) but the basic ingredients were under seasoned and over cooked. The service was slow and the waiter unapologetic to say the very least. I was given a free drink in a dirty glass (with lipstick marks around the rim) but at this point we were keen to leave so I just left it on the table. To top it all off my partner slipped on oil that had been spilt on the floor as we were leaving and fell over. No staff member even bothered to acknowledge the accident, let alone offer any kind of apology. We really enjoyed an evening meal taken at a nearby hotel which is run by the same company, and were left extremely disappointed by our experience at Lapas Bay this evening. I understand that accidents and mistakes can happen, but there is no excuse for this kind of poor service and lack of customer care, especially in this price bracket.

5.5/10Very interesting but poorly executed. Service could have been great, the waiters made impossible efforts to keep it up but they were really understaffed. Only 3 people managing about 30 tables + bar + cash register!!! They kept running, we felt they were doing the impossible but of course could not deliver at the level you would expect for this kind of place. Probably also kitchen suffered same problem so food, which was creative, ended up coming short. All in all, lapa bay has the right potential but need a bigger staff.

4.5/10Restaurant is part of 4stars hotel and ambience is nice and welcoming. During our dinner there was a live music performace in lobby area which was very loud so we could have barely talk. Food was coming up very quickly - both starter and main dish however my vegetable salad was only cut basic vegetables - not mixed, no dressing or seasoning, two big cubes of tofu. The other dish we had was smoked fish which was well prepared however gnocci were plane (should have been with herbs) and they were undercooked. Service in the restaurant seemed like confused not asking about quality of food, bringing first drinks after starter arrived etc. As they didnt check on us after main dish, no offer of drinks, desert, we just went directly to pay. Unfortunatelly dissapointing experience :(.
