We loved the 1741 - a great 1* Michelin restaurant - the staff were friendly and professional and all spoke good English too - some amazing dishes - particularly the fois gras and lobster courses. We try and visit a Michelin starred restaurant on every break we take and this one certainly did not disappoint - would highly recommend.
It was our wedding anniversary and we seat in a nice cozy place that we enjoyed very much. We were well taken care of, both the food and service was behind amazing. The place itself is beautiful. We will surely came back ❤????????
Super experience and recommendable for the price range. The 7 course tasting manu was wll presented and composed with expectable ups and downs. The pidgen breast was spectacular.

The staff is amazing and the chef very accommodating to our dietary/allergy restrictions. Even as a purest for eating what the chef’s intention is for the flavor of each course, I didn’t bring my epi pen and the food was still absolutely amazing even without the tree nuts! This is my third time eating here and it is worth every penny. It is my favorite restaurant in Strasbourg!
Below standard ... as we didn’t want an aperitif, the sommelier only came for the main dish and meanwhile we drank water... the food was well presented, rich cuisine and excellent taste but difficult for us to digest. Our waiter was ‘sufisant’. In total not worth the price.

We arrived at 7.45 but the last dish was served at 11.20. Very long waits between courses.. The kitchen was evidently closing at about 10.30 as they turned the lights off and we could see people cleaning the equipment. Everyone then seemed to disappear. We then had our cheese course and sat with empty plates as all the waiters seem to disappear. We then had to ask for dessert which took 20 minutes to appear, we then asked the coffee to be served immediately as it was already 11.30. All the other guests in our section were kept waiting. We ask for Alsace wine to be served. 3 Bottles came from the same Vineyard. We were not very impressed with any apart from the 1st Reisling. The last wine served with dessert was completely wrong and not very nice. The food was wonderful in parts. Amuse bouche of choucroute tart was just that and not very nice. The foir gras ball was wonderful. The pasta on the fish dish was undercooked, not al dente but tough. When I cut it it sprang open the sauce on the pigeon was over salty. The butter with pino noir was also too salty and the appearance of what looked like a bandage left on the table was not a good image. My biggest criticism was the seating. I know we were in the Chefs table area but I sat on a thin cushion leaning against a wall for four hours. I am short so couldn't reach the foot rests so my legs were dangling down. Service was aloof and not present especially at the end of the evening. If you have a chefs table area, who are paying the same money as other areas with linen table clothes, comfy seats etc. Putting your guests on an uncomfortable bench or a bar stool is not appropriate. The other thought is if you are in the Chefs table area, some interaction with the chefs would be nice. Everyone in that room was totally ignored by the kitchen staff, as though we weren't there. It was very disappointing.

Perfect meal for our first night in France! Beautiful, intimate, quiet, romantic atmosphere. Incredibly delicious food with local wine pairing. Great value for a Michelin star restaurant. The bar has been set very high for the remainder of our trip!
Pretentious place with some of the dishes nearing absurdity in an attempt to be different - raspberry jam with fish? I was happy with the menu - loved the smoked eel with crayfish, venison also good if a little chewy and loved the chocolate dessert. However the menu variety was very limited and my wife had just one item on the menu she wanted and it was - to her- an unknown entity = charfish. She was persuaded to have an appetizer but it was a strange vegetarian ravioli dish tasting strongly of vinegar. On our 4 week trip to Italy and France we ate at 3 1 star places and 1 two star. This was easily the worst.
Presentation and quality earn their star but young veal was a bit chewy. Wait staff tell you about the courses but don’t return to see if it is to your satisfaction. First bill presented was in error—corrected without explanation. Nevertheless, wonderful.

This was a memorable and perfect evening - everything was attended to - food, warm reception, beautiful wine and lovely environment. Food was creative but not fussy. We enjoyed it thoroughly— highly recommend!!
A great experience, 1741 is a clear favorite of mine in Strasbourg. The menu is not very extensive but all the choices are good. Delicious and very well presented food. I had a nice table on the kitchen floor of the charming building so the experience was very much like a Chef ‘s Table. Service is always very friendly and professional. I can highly recommend this restaurant.
