8/10The hot Grand Marnier was superb. Parking in the grounds or on the street was easy. The dining room is pleasantly old fashioned with silver service. My issue was failure by the kitchen to adhere to my medical dietary requirements despite advising on booking and clear instructions sent through the waiting staff. It took several returns of the main course to the kitchen before almost all banned vegetables were removed; I ultimately accepted one where the slice of potato (banned medically) under the lamb was still on the plate but removable. It spoiled an otherwise good experience.

4.5/10We had been before and enjoyed the experience The food and service were good This time was very disappointing The food was not the same quality but the service was poor One of the group was still eating and the servers started clearing the table There were other people in the restaurant who had just started their meal so it was not as if we were the last and were keeping them back

8.5/10Light and airy restaurant with beautiful view and sunset. But a very formal atmosphere. Delicious veggie main course and grand marnier soufflé but dissapointing homard for the very high price (€60). Very professional staff.

Dear Dean, It's currently late August and September that the sunsets over the Loire are the most beautiful to admire at dinner time. We are delighted that you were able to enjoy these magical moments. The vegetarian offer and the soufflé dessert were unanimously appreciated, but it's a shame about the lobster - was it a cooking problem? We thank you warmly for your feedback and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future (reopening after our renovation work in summer 2026).

6.5/10Smart dining room with views directly over the river Loire. Pleasant and helpful staff, but quality of the dishes disappointed. In the past 9 days travelling around Touraine we have enjoyed excellent meals, but Le 36 is unfortunately the only one we look back on as less than top-notch (despite being quite pricy)

10/10First-rate experiences all round. The ambience of the dining room very elegant in an understated way. The service was similar with experienced servers willing to share their knowledge upon asking. The food was phenomenal. The halibut was probably the finest I have ever eaten and the boeuf Rossini was another stand out. The cheese trolley was also formidable. We will surely return after the major makeover of the hotel is completed. One for your address book.

10/10We stayed at 36 in Amboise in November 2023. It was foggy and cold. We enjoyed the mood of the loire. Food and service at the restaurant Le 36 were perfect. We will come again.

5.5/10Restaurant gave really furious performance. They want to get impression of being top gastronomy restaurant but reality is very different. Staff where young students in article and they will have to take more practice. Ok, could be ... ... but their teachers don't known something more probably , e.g. serving of wine was made with more mistakes. Meal - only average. They can be really glad to being in tourist attractive location with more guest. That is not enough to rely on nice view of Loire Rives only ...

4.5/10Save your money and eat at one of the nice outdoor bistros on the Main Street. Our meal started with a very nice foie gras paired with a sweet wine. Our dinner entrees were disappointing. I had the steak dish, while it was cooked correctly - but it was tough and somewhat flavorless. My wife had the lamb which was also tough. Service was not the best as we continuously had to flag down a waiter. Also there were a couple of flys that kept buzzing us while we were trying to eat - odd for an upscale indoor restaurant. We finished about 1/2 of our dinners paid our bill and left - no dessert no coffee. We were very disappointed with the experience.

8.5/10The food was not as good as we hoped the turbot was fishier then it should have been and the Guinea fowl was pretty tough. My potatoes were not crisp. The appetizers were good the langoustine was good as were the scallops the crust on the pate was a bit soft. But flavor was good. The chocolate mouse was good and the cheeses were good the wine, we had the local Ambroise white ,was very good. The setting was excellent but it was noisy in the room two large parties were there. White table cloth service was well done.

10/10Excellent, very creative cooking with attentive and discreet service served in a beautiful Loire garden. A very enjoyable interlude on our trip. We hope to return often.

10/10A gastronomic deliciousness! Our Christmas lunch was devine! Food outstanding. Service and staff friendlyness top quality. My husband is highly allergic to any seafood and fish, and they accomodated him with meat courses instead of fish. Can highly recommend this restaurant.
