We had such a lovely, memorable experience here - a truly fantastic meal of vegan dishes (and fish for a friend), a warm atmosphere and friendly faces all around. We can't wait to come back soon! :)

Le Baobab Cuisine is a new concept restaurant from Senegal, West Africa. Opened in 2017, is now 'one of the places to eat' and 'the coolest place to be in Brighton right now' with high reviews and certificates of excellence from TripAdvisor, Google, Restaurant Guru, Sluurpy and the South England Prestige Award as Best African Restaurant in 2021.

Located in the North Laines in Brighton, Le Baobab Cuisine is the first ever gourmet restaurant from Senegal, West Africa in the United Kingdom. Chef Abdoulaye Gaye creates a very high quality cuisine through a delicate mixing of tastes with fresh vegetables, fish and meat and special African ingredients. As Senegal borders the Atlantic Ocean, fish is an important ingredient. Chicken, lamb, and beef are also used in Senegalese cooking, alongside fresh vegetables, sweet potatoes, yam, peanuts, gombos and the very special scotch bonnet pepper. Mafe, Yassa Poulet, Kaldou, Yassa Poisson, the Senegalese Curry Chicken or the King Prawn sautée à la Sénégalaise….
