We booked for 5.30 and requested a quiet table at the back of the restaurant. Before we finished our meal a table for 6 was set up adjacent to our table. We left.immefiately.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and the setting (outside) was perfect. The highlight as always was the superb food; starting with a creamy, smooth and flavorsome cauliflower soup followed by the Duck a l'orange...manifique!

Fabulous authentic French food and service. The French speaking staff add authenticity to this popular restaurant. BYO during week nights is an added bonus for those who wish to bring a wine from their cellar. Very efficient and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Had not eaten French for long time , with memories of rich food overpowering food. I was wrong, Ranging from entrees thru mains and dessert all were tasty and scrumptious. Service friendly and efficient with no request too hard for team. This is a gem.

Always on the lookout for a good French restaurant. Le Bouchon delivered our favourites in a superb Sunday lunch - souffle, confit canard and crepe suzette (flambee). Staff were attentive without being overly so and left us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. Definitely on the list of restaurants we will revisit and recommend.

My wife and I had been looking forward to eating here all week. It did not disappoint. The service was great and the food even better. Highly recommend the mussels and wagyu beef tartare. The soup du jour was delicious but couldn’t remember what it was. Did not think too highly of the charcuterie plate. Was just a bit underwhelming. Otherwise I can’t wait to come back.

The staff are excellent, the food was above what we expected and we had a very good meal. We have been before and again were not disappointed, so much so that we have rebooked to take some friends that have not been.

The staff was friendly and knew their menu. The menu while not large has more than enough variety to satisfy just about any diner. The wine list had been well chosen with many quality French and local wines. The staff was friendly and attentive but not intrusive.. The duck confit and the crepes were excellent.

About the restaurant

The French touch. For some real French, Michelin-worthy meals look no further than Le Bouchon in Crows Nest. Rather than the regular Parisian-style cafes, Le Bouchon focuses on another French region: Lyon, the gastronomic capital of the world. ‘Bouchon’ has a double meaning in French; not only does it mean ‘cork’, but it also the name used to describe authentic Lyonnaise brasseries, famous for serving up some rather unusual specialities. The menu at Le Bouchon is strongly rooted in French tradition and possibly not so much for vegetarians... Think sautéed lamb kidneys, pan-fried black pudding, calves liver and pomme puree, twice-cooked lamb neck and cassoulet of confit duck leg. Le Bouchon does a roaring trade throughout the day, with breakfast, lunch and pre-dinner aperitif offerings. While the food may be French, the service is anything but – here, you’ll only be greeted by smiles! Best dish: Twice cooked lamb neck, zucchini and eggplant millefeuille and anchovy beurre blanc.
