Fantastic service- husband and wife so friendly and took time out to explain the menu. Gorgeous food and even introduced us to a new gin - thank you!
This is a really good little bistro style restaurant. The toast base to my starter was a little bit too hard, the only fault in an otherwise excellent meal. The endive with walnut and goats cheese gratin was exceptionally good. Also the signature pear Charlotte desert yummm! Medium price for central Paris, good value.
This is a lovely French bistro—true to good French cooking and friendly service. Graciously informal. A favorite.
Great service, interesting wine, perfect rainy night comfort food!
Very inventive cuisine. If you are tired of more of the same bistro food, this place is for you. Excellent wine. The Cappacino first course was really good over sunchokes. The frog legs were delicious. The dourade was very good over cauliflower purée. The chocolate warm cake with pecans was incredible. I thought the prices were very good for the freshness and quality. A great wife (chef) and husband (manager) team. I love supporting businesses like this one.
Excellent atmosphere and wonderful explanation of the dishes. Convivial conversation sms the chef came to show the latest item on the menu. French cooking and service at its best.
we Had a very friendly welcome for my wife and I and our 2 children (9 and 12) when we arrived. The menu, in french, was explained to us in English with a passion that showed they loved their food. Each dish we had was superb. So good such that we are going again this trip after too many good but not great experiences at other restaurants.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, wonderful host and chef couple. A must visit! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Paris and staying in the Marais.
I've been there several times now. Am always impressed. I will definitely go back. Just wonderful.
The food was really good, the duck was cooked perfectly to my specifications. The steak dish was also tasty. The server was outstanding, handling the small room by himself, he was very attentive and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this place.
Food was good but nothing memorable.
Meal was sublime- highlight was leg of rabbit perfectly cooked with a delicate fennel cream sauce on the side . Very friendly host. Charming room - we left in a great mood.
After a careful review, we selected Le Chanard for our final dinner while in Paris, staying in the Marais, following a vacation in Provence. We thought the restaurant was casual, the food taste spot on, a great value, and as gay men my husband and I felt very welcomed by the owner. It was a fitting end to our journey in a country known for good food. Hope your experience is the same!
We had three courses and the meal was very good. My only problem was that we arrived 5 minutes early, and it was raining, and we were told to go away and come back in 5 minutes, so we had to wait outside in the rain. The restaurant was empty at the time, so it would have been easy to have us sit inside... Everything else was really above average and very worth the cost.
Great neighborhood vibe with outstanding food. This is our first night restaurant when visiting Paris - Liza makes you feel as one of the family.
I always enjoy going there . I will be there again.
Very friendly service & homey atmosphere. Answered all of our questions. Cocktails were especially delicious!
Lovely French restaurant, with friendly staff and amazing food!
