About the restaurant Le Coin de Camille

Very welcoming service, the lady who served us was the owner and spoke perfect English. The main dishes very really great, they also prepared a vegetarian dish for one of my friends as there was none on the menu.

Fabulous, freshly made food and clearly a rare restaurant that is aware of gluten free food needs. Every course was beautifully prepared and presented with tons of flavour. We were a table of 6 so sampled most of the menu between us. Not cheap but 100% quality. Menus were available in English and our server (owner I think) spoke very good English and was able to explain and converse with us throughout the evening.

The food and ambience at this typical Bordeaux restaurant were excellent. Madame looked after us very well (including menu in English) after a slightly awkward start when it became clear that our internet booking had not be registered.
Fortunately there was a vacant table, so all was well.

We had the formule menu. All of the dishes were perfect. The waiter and manager were particularly pleasant and helpful as one of our party was coeliac. Would definitely go back for the lamb main and the chocolate dessert!

We had just arrived in Birdeaux and so restaurant choice was last minute. We used Trip Adviser and looked for the best, available and accessible restaurant and Le Coin de Camille popped up with a 9pm table. We were so glad we did, the food and wine was glorious. Our serving person was a delight to deal with and her explanations of the menu helped us decide on some amazing food offerings that were new to us. The cold cauliflower, herb encrusted soft cheese and a boiled egg was fantastic, as was the other entree of pork, melon with olive teponarde on a special bread base. For mains the lamb roast with foie gras in a pastry tube and the duck breast with caramelised nectarines and a large piece of root vegetable were both excellent. We were too full for dessert, but those being served to others looked very good. On the recommendation of our servicing person we accompanied our meal with. Bordeaux Ckaret which was a superb recommendation. We left after 11 pm fully satisfied.

Reserved the table via thefork.com. When we arrived they offered several tables but not among the best in the cafe. Ok, we ordered two meats, lamb and beef, both cooked to medium-rare as recommended by the hostess. The dishes looked good but that's the only advantage. The beef was hardly chewable, the wiry meat from an old cow. They said it's with foie gras but I did not feel the foie gras, just a sauce. The lamb was an old ram skin with two pieced of old-ram sinewy meet and several pieced of bread filled with ram fat. The taste is slightly masquerated with a sauce. Total 45 Euro with 2 glasses of wine. So the best from the chef are the wines, not meats. Expensive and not a meat for our tastes. Will better go to supermarket or fastfood for better meat. A tourist trap.

We went there with our children aged 11 and 9 and pre booked. It was great imaginative but not pretentious food. Cappaccio of beef with mustard ice cream. Fun but not over the top. If you like informal dining but with quality French local food with a slight modern twist (not rustic) then this is the place for you. Go back anytime. Go for it.
