Lovely place with a focus on poultry. A variety of birds to choose from. Small ones for the individual and larger ones for 2 or more persons. Wines by the glass are good and well priced. We had one dessert -- it was superb and also well priced. Excellent, attentive service. Cozy and quiet. I would definitely return here (and I have... perhaps my 4th time there).

Nice location, friendly staff. Waiter didn’t see when glasses where empty and never offered some more wine (we bought a bottle). Anyway it was interesting experience

we ordered AOC Bresse whole chicken , that came with several side dishes … Chicken was very tasty , cooked and seasoned to perfection… can’t be better … mashed potato’s were excellent … mac and cheese - not my favorite dish to start with- was plain and missing many flavors… fries were below average … salad and veggies were good … overall, very happy with the meal … wine was reasonable priced . the amusing part was how they seated the guests ( our impression) : elderly , non -elegantly dressed , apparent tourists - were placed in the back room around communal table .The front room was full of more “elegant” or say , more pleasant looking guests ( window effect ) . I get it, restaurants always do it .. and didn’t bother me that much … service was acceptable… more or less … But again , food was more than good … and because of the food I can recommend the place.

The restaurant was very nice. Unfortunately the breast of the chicken was dry. In addition the chicken terrine was cold like it just came out of the refridgetator and again the pieces of chicken breast were dry. The dessert was very good. Service was good as well

Amazing food, we don’t speak French but they have a French and English version of the menu which is very convenient, and our server was more than happy to help us decide. The food was delicious and the atmosphere pleasant. Highly recommend this place.

Une première experience réussie dans cet endroit: joli cadre, service attentionné et rapide, mais surtout le meilleur coq au vin que je n'ai jamais goûté, tendre et savoureux/A great first visit to the all poultry place that served the best coq au vin that I have ever tried. Attentive and quick service, nice decor. Highly recommended.

The food at Le Coq & Fils is always great. Fresh ingredients prepared with care, love, and thought. The service, too, is attentive, done with a smile, and always generous. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone craving roast chicken or otherwise in Montmartre.

It started with the restaurant not being able to find the reservation that I made on The Fork - even though I had called and confirmed it at noon the same day. The restaurant were obviously over capacity and the service showed. There was a single person trying to serve about 8 tables and even though he was nice - we ended up waiting for very long periods (like 20 minutes) with our plates just stacked in front of us. The food was ok - I have been to the NYC location and remember this being the best chicken of my life. Now it tasted over cooked and a bit dried out (except for the skin which wasn't even crispy). We also ordered a couple of different chicken types so we could really understand the different flavor profiles but they were all just mixed together on one plate so we had no idea what was what and the staff didn't know either. And when you are spending 150 on a chicken you really want to worship the bird. So, maybe we got an off night but I have had much better chicken for much less.

Third time at the restaurant. Chicken was as crispy, moist and deep in flavor as ever. Unfussy, but elegant vibe making it a perfect place to relax after an exhilarating day exploring Paris.

Perhaps, most important is polite participation in our service. Arriving when the restaurant opened to avoid the rush. We reserved to seat at the bar in front of the open kitchen. The small staff is split between the dining room and the bar. The wines by the glass were not updated and forgotten (ordered at the time of menu). Sancerre rouge was warm and lacked precision -- made good with a briillant 2017 Nicolas Rossignol Bourgogne rouge fitting the taste profile I described. Very good and creative food. Highly recommended and would return in a heartbeat!

The roasted chicken for 2 was cool and kinda bland. We had better chicken at the local farmers market. The service was nice and as expected. We were sat outside even though we requested inside. The asparagus was great and the portions were large.

The roast chicken was a let down. It was not juicy and tender as I would have hoped. The breast in particulat was dry and tough. Service and location were nice tho.

Nice, cozy spot in Montmartre. The au jus for the chicken was delicious, the salad was dressed nicely in a lovely vinaigrette and the fries were done just right. However for the price, I felt the single portion, quarter chicken was on the small side and chicken was a bit tough.

About the restaurant

Founded in 2012 by the three stars Chef AW

Originally Le Coq Rico now reborn as Le Coq & Fils, The Poultry House in sept 2021.

Nestled in Montmartre, a few steps away from the famous Sacré Coeur, a cuisine 100% dedicated to the best poultry.

The "Fils" (sons) are a reference to offspring, to pedigree and reminds everyone that Le Coq is there to transmit a legacy.

To go further and maintain Chef Antoine Westermann's commitment for an ethic, sustainable and good food, we decide to go for the best poultry as first choice: poultry raised in the 100% well-being of the animal.
