About the restaurant Le Galopin

My entree was excellent (haddock and apricot), however the choice of my three guests was average at best. Next the cod was clearly undercooked, in a way that makes it clear it had been frozen at some point recently. Very disappointing for a main dish, and two guests who had the same agreed. However the dessert, both the rhubarb and the chocolate were delicious.

Overall I am disappointed because when a restaurant is at this price, especially in this neighborhood and a reservation is more or less difficult and required to get so in advance : frankly, you expect each entree main and dessert be excellent.

The decor is "simple" but actually just ugly and boring. White walls no effort made what so ever.
The "open" kitchen is a cool concept except one of the chefs listened to our conversation, and the other made an unhappy face. The service was friendly, flexible, helpful and that along with the desserts might be their saving grace.

Due to the cost, I will absolutely not return for the "rapport qualité prix"

Nice small place with retro atmosphere in a very mixed neighborhood. Small menu with a very high level of creativity in the dishes -- the chef clearly cares about the food and does some really wonderful things. (The haddock/asparagus and veal tartare entrees were both fabulous. Who knew that radishes could be such a wonderful complement to veal?!) We were less enamoured of a pork main dish -- large hunk of meat that was, candidly, just too fatty to be enjoyable. But we will happily return to see what adventures they cook up next!

Perhaps our palate was not used to the flavor of the dishes, we found them bland and uninteresting even though they were well presented. the most enjoyable course was dessert.

I was expecting more for the price. It’s cosy. Small and cute. But the waiter didn’t have any clue about the wine.

The chicken we got served was half cooked.

And it was cold in th restaurant.

I think it was over priced.

Wow! 7 course meal for 54EU what a great deal xx The food was beautifully presented and each course explained. It was great for us to try things we wouldn't ordinarily order, and so worth it. My advice is just go for it and enjoy the experience.

Best food in Paris. Amazing wine. Amazing place. Amazing prices. Prepare for a dinner that is perfectly nuanced and prepared with patient and kind service and no fuss. This is not dressy or fussy. Strictly for people who adore great food and wine and appreciate the effort to create a delicious meal. Prices are low. Be ware - this is a set menu

This is our fourth visit over the past 4 years. The most sophisticated food we have ever eaten. Creative, surprizing and delicious. Excellent wine list, attentive and fun staff and they haven't lost a beat over the past 4 years.

located at a nice little square. food is mediocre at best. didn't live up to it's reputation. waiters couldn't advise on food-wine pairing. they didn't serve tea, which is quite rare for a restaurant.
