This was a lunch with my mother while on vacation for the weekend in Toulouse and we chose it due to its higher ratings than most restaurants around La Capitole and Wilson Square, which are largely mediocre and touristy. We found the atmosphere at Le Gôut en Train to be nice, as it was small but with plenty of room to be comfortable, and mostly French clientele. The service was friendly. The room is decorated with some of our favorite LPs (records). The paint on the walls was as if they were about to repaint the restaurant and were choosing which grey to paint. The bathroom was quite dirty and tiny and could use a lot of attention. The food was just ok, nothing special. The Salade de Ravioles was nice and simple, but without too much flavor - again, ok, nothing special, but just nice and certainly not at all bad. The pricing was good for the size and quality thankfully. The menu has only about 6 salads and a few deserts. Very simple. We enjoyed ourselves, but would not give more than 3.5 stars out of 5.
