About the restaurant Le Grand Colbert

"CHIC BRASSERIE - Ready for a gourmet moment filled with history in the 2nd arrondissement? With a sumptuous setting and a warm welcome, clientèle that is a bit trendy and traditional recipes, Le Grand Colbert is an must-visit Parisian brasserie.

TRADITIONAL RECIPES - À la carte? Seafood and shellfish plates, fillet of bass with olive oil or grilled salmon for marine cravings, blanquette of veal with mushrooms or kidney of veal grilled with bacon for meat-eaters missing the old-world flavors. For the sweet touch, you can partake of the profiteroles or crème brûlée.

A BIT OF ART - many galleries and theaters in the locality to nurture the spirit as well after a culinary break between friends!"

A restaurant for tourists... There wasn't a single "parisien" there. Appart from that it is expensive.

I was there for my 60th. I came from Brazil to meet my daughters who live somewhere else in Europe. We all met in Paris to celetebrate my birthday, and what better place then Le Grand Colbert? It was the perfect palace for the occasion. We all loved it and enjoyed the location and our meals. Highly recommended.

Good traditional upmarket bistro... don't expect modern food the menu is as old as the place but good classic bistro food done well and good atmosphere even if the crowd is a little businessy at lunchtime.
