About the restaurant Le Lumière - Sébastien Crison

"HISTORICAL SETTING - It is here, in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, on 28 December 1895, that the Lumière brothers made the first projection of the cinematograph in what was formerly the Grand Café. Within the establishment, Le Lumière welcomes you in a romantic and contemporary setting. Photos of the first films of the Lumières brothers are exhibited in the room.

THE CHEF - In the dishes, Sébastien Crison, as a true virtuoso of cooking combinations, plays of contrasts and textures, offers creative cuisine highlighting the essence of products.

THE SMALL LUMIÈRE - A large sunny canopy during the day and illuminated by a thousand colors in the evening exalts the place. The restaurant allows partitioning the dining room or its lounges. Le Lumière gives way to Le Petit Lumière on Saturday and Sunday with a simplified menu for renewed pleasure."

Excellent food and service. Ambiance very comfortable, off the lobby of the hotel. Very spacious and quiet. But it was the food that was special-- a cut above other restaurants we have tried in this price category. With a Fork discount it is a Best Buy!

Not a very quiet night at the restaurant but a little noisy. The food was very good but not as amazing as, say, at the Shangri La. The price is justified.

Spacious and well-lit beneath a glass canopy - a great setting for a business lunch. Services was friendly and discreet. Dishes were well presented, though not remarkable.

It was an excellent and delightful moment : everything was excellent ! Maybe one of the most excellent and delicious food in Paris ! The foie gras was amazing, the Saint Jacques was so excellent without any doubt, and the roasted duck with Chartreuse made us speechless ! The place is so romantic ! Without any hesitation, the restaurant is the French typical gastronomie !

The starter was excellent. However both mine and my wife's main dishes were disappointing and not warm enough. A very expensive cheese plate came without any sundries (grapes, apple, chutney etc). The total bill was in excess of 100€ more than we paid at a nearby Michelin star restaurant.

The food was correct, but what I would call "forced diversivication" - be different at any price. For me the St.Jaques under a smoke bell did not combine well.

Beautiful hotel and restaurant, great service and exquisite dishes. We enjoyed ourselves very much and would definitely recommend this restaurant. I also agree with previous reviews...go in via the hotel main entrance. Friendly staff will show you the way.

Such a charming place, I loved the interior and the food was splendid. I will never forget the taste of the duck breast I had there. The chef cooked it perfectly, without asking how I wanted it- that´s when you know that the kitchen knows what they´re doing. It was brilliant how the waiter came out and presented us the desserts on plate, we got exhilarated and of course ordered a dessert straight away!
