The food was spectacular. We were surprised. Ordered the duck. Taste combinations were titillating to the tongue. My French friends were impressed and said that they would come again!

Wonderful evening with perfect dinner. The host was very nice and helping, they even had a children chair for our little boy! The chef’s recommendation were fresh, creative and an explosion of flavors in many directions!! The goose liver was accompanied with some surprises to challenge our taste in a very positive way. Both main courses were perfect and fresh ingridiencea were used. The menu is not very big but all dishes sounded excellent and everyone will find some perfect dinner there! The wine list ist not really big but we’ll sorted from most French regions and the wines are very moderated prices! Overall a wonderful experience in a. Ice place with an excellent chef and a great crew!!! We will be back for sure!!

This Hidden Treasure is a Must

I booked this restaurant based on the TripAdvisor reviews and we were not disappointed.

I have to be honest we nearly cancelled as we walked past and viewed the menu which was not terribly extensive. I then went back and re-read the reviews and decided that we had to go. I am so pleased that we did.

From start to finish our whole experience was just lovely. The staff are enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable. When the food arrived our tastebuds were delighted. My fois gras was sublime. It was so creamy and delicious. My husbands tuna was outstanding, his words. I then had the chefs suggestion; langostine with mash, not two foods I would normally associate with each other but it worked wonderfully. My husband had the hake which came on a blanket of foam, a veritable masterpiece. We then shared desert and cheese all lovely.

My advice, do not go to La Rochelle without visiting this restaurant. But make sure you make a booking via Fork.

This is a lovely place with good food and perfect service. We had a small problem but the owner who speaks perfect English solved that very professionaly. We will go back in September when we are back in La Rochelle.

Creative cuisine, well-served. Reservations essential because there is only one chef who can't cope with having every table full at all times.

A highly attentive staff that really tried to explain the dishes in detail. Both suggestions of the day (entree and plat) were very delicious and eyecatching. We recommend to reserve a table and come early (around 8 for dinner), because it can get busy and service slows down when the restaurant fills up.

The restaurant was very well laid out, lighting and ambience was just right. We tried the chefs choice of entree, which was delicious, followed by the pork. The pork apparently was vacuum cooked and was so flavoursome. Was worth the meal for the fusions of flavours

We had a great meal at this small atmospheric restaurant in the historic district of La Rochelle. I had the smoke salmon appetizer with ice cream (yes!) and duck with cauliflower which was very tasty. My wife had the bream with oysters, caviar, and sweet potatoes which was delicious. We finished with a wonderful rhubarb tart and ice cream. The server was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Ate at 3 different restuarants in La Rochelle. All were good, but this was the best for food, but was also the most expensive. It was a real french food experience. The meals were explained when served, in a good way, not condescending. All added to the experince. Nice pace to the service. You need to allow the whole evening for the meal. Do not be in a rush and enjoy a complete evening out.

An imaginative menu clearly explained by the enthusiastic owner - a young chef who wants to make a mark - it is small so essential to book.
