10/10So lucky to find Le Petit Louvre - we had the most fabulous cheese fondue for lunch. Wonderful ambience.....we all agreed we will return for dinner soon!

10/10Step into a truly unique dining experience in Sydney, where French Rococo elegance intertwines with every detail. The restaurant offers an exquisite menu, with dishes crafted from the finest ingredients, ensuring each bite is a anchor to culinary artistry. Beyond the tantalising flavours, expect an evening rich in tales. The owner, who also wears the hat of the chef, passionately shares the captivating journey of the restaurant's debut and the meticulous process behind ingredient selection. It's not just a meal; it's an immersive story that lasts the whole night. Reserve your table and prepare to be transported.

10/10Great ambience, service and food. Christian is the owner and host and does all the work himself..You need to let him know you want oysters. He will get best and freshly shuck them to your plate. He serves with red wine mignonette, the right bread and Epicure butter in french tradition. A bite of this between oysters enhances the palate THe Confit de Canard is SO good . Best we have had outside France. Falls off bone with great flavour. Sliced potatoes cooked in duck fat accompany brilliantly Mandy reported her Creme Brulee excellent and I had Tarte Tatin flamed with Brandy .Also excellent No extensive wine list. I recommend starting with Champagne and continue to drink with your oysters. Have Christian match a Pinot Noir with the duck My only criticism...NO espresso coffee However we will be back for the duck and ambience. I am also able to buy my favourite Brie ( Epoisses) to take hoime. Russ Miller

4/10One-man band, average food, excruciatingly long wait - not worth the hype. This is not what good French food and service should be. There are 4 tables only which would have been good if we had been served some food (any food) in a reasonable amount of time. After 1h30 waiting with absolutely nothing to eat (not even the bread/butter or bread/oil combination), we asked for at least 1 entree to be served. Response was: well, it's an entree for one so not sure what you will do with it. Well, we will eat it, that's what we'll do. We left after the entrees, not having the energy and grit to order and wait for mains. It would probably been another 2 hours' wait. All in all, we stayed for 2 hours and had a small serve of saucisson and pate with hardly any bread, an over-baked camembert and sad-looking iceberg salad with some goat cheese on toast.

10/10A charming, small restaurant, owner-run who will take you on a passionate journey through the menu; which is limited in choice but each item is exquisite. French cuisine served in a traditional French manner, not rushed - at all. Go there to savour excellent French food, don’t go if you are in a hurry.

10/10Dinner here exceeded our wildest expectations. We in fact had no idea we had signed up for a culinary experience dressed with fascinating stories about the history and traditions of the spectacular produce we were enjoying. Chef Christian’s quiet passion and deep understanding of French gastronomy was expressed through classic presentations of the very finest produce he could acquire locally or get through quarantine from France. His pairings with extraordinary champagne, cider and wines was outstanding. The bang for buck is excellent too. An emphatic recommendation for The Petit Louvre!

9.5/10We all had a great time. Every dish (including the wine pairing) was excellent. Fresh and quality produce. Christian made every bite felt like you're in Paris and imagine your grandma's or your mum's home cooked meals. We'll definitely come back and try other dishes.

8/10Unusual but engaging service with the owner who shared his vast knowledge of French food and wine. The ambience was quaint and it is worth exploring - not the traditional restaurant you find in Kings Cross area

10/10A small restaurant in that most Gallic city of Australia, Sydney. Principally it's a French cheese shop which has evolved into a specialty restaurant. As you might expect cheese permeates much of its menu offerings, but it's much more than that. It's proprietor, Christian, has crafted an immersive French cultural and gastronomic experience for you to enjoy. The tiny menu is supported by a surprisingly extensive cellar of matching wines and ciders dispensed by the glass. You can get it by the bottle but that would only serve to limit the experience. No BYO here, it's the full Monty: wine, food and cultural experience. Surrounded by the walls and ceiling decorated with reproductions of great French art, and the French music playing discreetly in the background, you could be in Lyon or Paris. without having to endure the flight or the cost of it.

Dear Bernard, Where to start? Firstly, I would like to thank you very much for your review. But this would be not polite enough given the thorough description you made of Le Petit Louvre, and its dining experience. You have described the place and its soul with surgical precision, I could not dream of anything more appropriate than your kind words to share Le Petit Louvre with friends or family. Thank you for this beautiful gift. It brings strength and support to keep Le Petit Louvre going and improving with a new menu, and new extended opening hours. Merci

10/10This little restaurant is very unique. We had a great experience and definitely the best cheese fondue ever! The wines were delicious and ideally paired with each dish. The owner is passionate about making people discover delicious and high quality products that he’s sourcing directly from France, while at the same time sharing historical and cultural stories linked with the food. The paintings, dinnerware and furniture are genuine antics from his family in France! If you are looking for something different from the usual Australian restaurants, that all look the same, and keen to be taken on a discovery journey, this is truly unique.

10/10A definite gem! What a beautiful restaurant with a real French feel from the french period art to the candelabra on the tables and the red velvet drapes. Chritian our host and chef entertained us with the history of the art, the origin of the cheeses and was very passionate about the items on the menu, giving welcome suggestions. The meal was outstanding. We had the baked Camembert Fermier, and the Duck Foie Gras followed by Confit de Canard, Cheese Fondue and Souffle au fromage de Chevre Everything was supurb but we could not pass up the Tarte Tatin to finish off a most memorable dining experience. Thank you Christian. We will be back

Experience a Rococo Salon from the early 18th century in Paris: Le Petit Louvre is a little pocket of Versailles hidden in vibrant Potts Point, dedicated to French food as authentic and classic as it was three hundred years ago. Paintings on the ceilings, double rounds of cornices, paintings on the walls, furniture, and music from the time to complete the transportation, a truly unique gem in Potts Point.
