Beautiful view of the chateau foix. Food good to very good. Very nice service though old school (my menu had no prices, for example). Beware you will be charged for reserving on the Fork (2.50 per person).

Little pretty restaurant across the river from the main part of the old town. Large open windows looking up to the castle; what a view! We arrived at 8 when they opened and by the time we left over an hour later there was still only one other table being served. We had the 3 course fix price menu and everything was wonderful. The food was presented beautifully, the service was quiet and attentive. If you want to get away from the loud crowded tourist places in the old city I recommend this restaurant highly.

Despite the sad looking entrance, once you're through the door Phoebus is really cosy and the views across the river to the Chateau are gorgeous, espcially lit up at night. The first thing that struck me was how beautifully laid the tables were. The dinner plates are all hand painted by art students from the local high school and are absolutely gorgeous! My only complaint is the cutlery, forks in particular - ergonomic design looks great but they are actually really awkward to hold and very heavy! The menu is pretty varied and the food really delicious and superbly presented. Portion sizes were spot on. Expensive however.

Better than expected from other reviews, and much better than we feared. Our best meal in Foix!
