Best to make a reservation. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Had cheese broad with nice selection of 4 cheeses and salad greens My husband had the fillet which He enjoyed and I tried the torbet fish which was excellent A little more pricey than some other places we ate but the atmosphere was so authentic.
The beautiful flavours of the food sets this restaurant apart from many others offering similarly priced dishes. The quality of service, the attentiveness of the staff, the timing of each course and the presentation of the room and table are all very good and helped make our night out one of the best in recent time. It's a cracking restaurant with a interesting menu and extremely good food. I suggest booking a dinner table at 8pm to avoid the logjam caused by everyone else who arrives at 7pm.
Great service and wonderful ambiance!!
Sophisticated dining atmosphere but the casual dressed the norm in this restaurant near the cathedral. Offered a more diverse menu with tasting choices. Enjoyed the duck with violet potatoes, chicken with a fruit sauce, and a selection of meats. Service well paced and server charming and English speaking. Interesting fruit based ice cream, a first for me --apple ice cream with a shot of calvados.
Beautiful food and customer service.
Excellent, friendly and efficient service, food excellent from hor‘s d‘oeuvre to desert, a very entertaining experience
Food was fantastic, especially the deserts. Unfortunately our waiter seemed to forget about us. We waited and waited for everything, and even requesting the check and sent him off with money to cover the bill it took more than 20-30 minutes to return with change. I would recommend this place for the quality of food, however I hope you would have a better service experience.
Le Pommier had been recommend by some Paris-based French friends (one of whom is a chef). I loved it so much, I went back every day of my three-day stay in Bayeux. A delicious coquillages appetizer and wonderful fish dishes. And I could not resist the profiteroles. Oh my. Make reservations. It's a popular place (deservedly so).
Wow! Delicious food all around. The duck and lamb dishes were excellent. The service was warm and attentive but discreet. Lovely atmosphere!!
Lovely restaurant and great food served very nicely. Glad we had the reservation!
The specials are wonderfully presented and the service is excellent!
The menu was lovely, service was great and we really enjoyed our meal.
Delicious dinner.
Starters and desserts were good. Both our main courses were disappointing, average. Mains were over priced for quality. Wine choice good and reasonably priced. Service and setting very nice.
Fabulous food. Great atmosphere!
The service was really friendly and prompt, with just the right amount of time between courses. The menu had a degree local identity and there was just the right amount of choice. Personally, I think for a restaurant would benefit from being less formal, but that might be more personal preference and doesn't detract from the quality of what was served. All dishes were tasty, but my only criticism was the duck was sliced too thinly and was there wasn't a huge amount.
What a delightful experience! The service was outstanding, with the staff assisting in answering questions re: the menu. A diner at the next table had severe dairy issues, and they went out of their way making recommendations & accommodating her needs with the chef. The atmosphere is delightful & our food was outstanding! I had the fish & my dining companion had the mixed grill. Both were superb & cleaned our plates. Make a reservation, as it gets crowded. This was probably our best dining experience in this trip!
Our train to Bayeax from Paris ran late and so we called the owner and he was very accommodating. When we arrived, close to closing, they warmly welcomed us and invited us to order whatever we wanted, but asked us to order our dinner in its entirety from the beginning. Each dish was delicate, delicious sand beautifully presented.. The salmon main dish served on a purée of butternut squash was divine! The creme brûlée was also to perfection. I strongly recommend this lovely charming restaurant if you’re in the area
I had the lamb, and my partner had sea bass. Both were fantastic. The service was excellent, too.
Wonderful service and outstanding food and wine!
